In the Photosynth Technical Preview 'Create' or 'Upload' process there are four steps:
1: Choose your photos
2: Choose the synth type they correspond to
3: Add Title, Description, + Photo License
4: Proceed to upload progress report + wait until upload is complete.
I know that the upload is already happening by Step 3 (Title + Description) because I've had to step away during this step a few times and when I proceed to Step 4 the upload is already well underway.
My question is whether you begin the upload of the photos at Step 2.
If not, why not?
It seems that processing of the synth will not commence until all of the photos are uploaded and it is highly unlikely that upload of all of the photos will complete before the user returns to complete the metadata for the synth including the synth type.
Basically, I think that getting the photos uploading as soon as Step 1 is complete is a good idea in case someone is interrupted + steps away from the PC at Step 2.
You need to click "finish" before processing will begin even all the files have been uploaded.
Good to know.
I guess my point was that anyone who has completed Step 1 would probably like any time from then on to be spent uploading photos.
If processing won't begin until 'finish' is clicked, then presumably selecting the synth type is unimportant to beginning photo upload.
