Topic: RSS for Photosynth 2 synths

Hello,

Now that embed is quite easy to do, I wanted to knock up a Quick Windows 8 WinRT app which can be used to showcased my synths - I would open source via github for others to use also.

My idea was to use the RSS feed to pull a list of my synths and then use the embed code to have a listview of each of my synths. This would enabled me to build an app once and each new synth would automatically appear as it was published.

However, I noticed that the RSS feed doesn't show the Photosynth 2 synths.

To enable synthers to really push their content around the Web - Please enable a Photosynth 2 specific RSS feed.

Thanks

Matt

Short term work around is to favorite your own synths as these new Photosynth 2's do show up and the info can be extracted for embedding into a app that supports iframes

Nice workaround!

The Photosynth team says they're on the case. https://twitter.com/photosynth/status/411540567483379712

(Technically they don't mention an RSS feed, though... and since it's not on the preview profiles...)
Good request, though.

I'd really like to see more of an API for Photosynth this time around.

@Don't Panic, notice that only listed and non-preview content displays in the RSS feed.
For example, you won't find any of your GoPro tests listed there.

The most recent synth in that feed is "Redstone Veterinary Hospital, Mesa County, Co"
Pop open a private window momentarily with your main site profile in it (without being signed into the site) and you should see what is listed in the RSS feed.
PhotosynthHandler.ashx could be used to retrieve the synths of a user. There's also a REST API that the new preview site uses which lists PS2 synths only if that is what you want. Both APIs are undocumented, however.
