I'd love for it to be possible to use a jojstick to navigate my large synths (in point cloud view)
I think I completely agree. Since Virtual Earth (Bing Maps 3D) has supported this for years now, it would be great to see native joystick and joypad support come to Photosynth as well.
If you don't like waiting for the Photosynth team to build this, you can always investigate programs like AutoHotkey ( http://www.autohotkey.com/ ) and Xpadder ( http://xpadder.com/ ) to map the current keyboard commands (see the Photosynth Photography Guide here: http://photosynth.net/howtosynth.aspx ) to your joystick.
If anyone else knows of programs that do the same thing but more easily or provide more control, please add them to this thread.
Using one of the above programs also allows you use your joystick controls in the Direct3D viewer (which the Photosynth team stopped updating towards the beginning of 2009), so this method has its advantages even if the Photosynth guys actually do introduce joystick support in a future Silverlight viewer.
