I tag my photos in Live Photo Gallery. I have noticed that the Synther does not import these tags, which forces me to retag the Synth online. Would be nice to have an option to include the phototags in the Synth.
Definitely seconded. I assume that you would want the tags to still be attached to individual photos, rather than the entire synth at once, correct?
Right, I feel it wouldn't be bad, if not useful, if tags of individual photos are viewable for viewers. The main thing is that tags are accessable for searching on the internet and finding synths. I was thinking of having a merge of all photo tags as metadata for the synth, but I gues there might be arguments against that. If synths can be found on tags in the photos, then why have tags on synth level anyway. Then it might also be a good idea to be able to navigate to photos within a synth based on their tags; guess would attract a larger audience.
Another item in our backlog. For future reference when tagging the synth as a whole which would you all prefer? 1) all tags from the images in a synth are automatically added 2)only tags belonging to 2 (or maybe 3) images are added?
Personally I'd rather have all tags preserved and then cross a few out if they were unimportant, rather than only having the most common tags auto-added, necessitating that I still manually add the other half of the tag list.
While we're on the topic of preserving metadata from photos, I just wanted to link back to where I had mentioned preserving People Tags from Windows Live Photo Gallery ( http://photosynth.net/discussion.aspx?cat=01b6f15f-42eb-49cb-a221-ed56615e1c47&dis=614a1eb6-0fca-48e1-939d-ad18ce9a5145 ). If the synther could also read Picasa and iPhoto's people tags, this would be great, but I don't know if Picasa and iPhoto store their face tags inside the photos' headers or in their own special external index.
@Tony 1) all tags of all individual images and all of them together to tag the Synth.
