Do you have an idea for an awesome feature we should add… or hate the way we’re currently doing something? Share your ideas and suggestions here.
It would be nice to have a WP7 integration since it's a MS product also. One idea would be to view Synths, but my Samsung Omnia 7 also has a quite capable camera so we could publish new Synths directly from the phone.
I agree with this.
Likewise I really feel Microsoft is making the same mistake again it has a great and novel thing but it's not pushing it out to the publi#%!@il a competitor makes a similar system and then Microsoft seems late to the game again
I would love to be able to shoot synths with the phone like you demonstrated it already for a certain other phoneChttpblogsmsdncombphotosyntharchive2OIOI2I5coming-soon-to-photosynth-gorgeous-mobile-panosaspx) butwhere the hell is it for WPT!
MacGuyver, since you watched the video embedded at http://bit.ly/mobilepan already, you should have heard Josh Lowenstein ask Blaise Agüera y Arcas about which platforms the features showed were coming to. Here's the transcript:
JL: "So when does this update come out to iPhone users?"
BA: "Well, only Apple can tell us that."
JL: "What about other platforms? Are some of these features coming there soon or later?"
BA: "Yeah, so many of these features are coming to other devices as well: so, uh, the usual suspects: RIM, Android, WinPhone7."
JL: "Great! Thanks so much."
BA: "Thanks so much."
You should also pick up that so far only panoramas (not synths) are being published via that app and that it is not yet published on any mobile platform, though the time is drawing quite near, as evidenced by the addition of the new "Mobile Photosynth" forum here in the Photosynth forums.
Check out employees testing the panorama app here: http://bit.ly/psmpru
it is our for windows phone 7/7.5/8 and has bin since windows phone was realized. so im not sure what your talking about.
@jokergallagher, this topic was written back in early 2011.
Windows Phone was launched in 2010 October.
Photosynth's mobile panorama app only came out on iOS in 2011 April.
Photosynth's mobile panorama app came out for Windows Phone 7 in 2012 May.
Photosynth's mobile panorama app came out for Windows Phone 8 in 2013 February.
So, no, Photosynth has not been available since Windows Phone was released.
Moreover, Photosynth's mobile app only creates and opens panoramas - not photosynths.
Understandably, phones don't have the power to create photosynths, but the app could at least view them, because that is exactly what the unofficial iSynth app did on the iPhone back in late 2008 or early 2009 on much less powerful hardware.
