I have been using photosynth with ICE for panoramas. This experience has been great except for not being able to crop the panorama before upload. I was wondering if there is a work around. If not, please consider it in the next release of the interface between ICE, and photosynth.
I agree. It would be really good to be able to tidy the panorama before or after publication.
Count me in too. Hossam was the first that I know of who publicly requested this, but this discussion is also related: http://photosynth.net/discussion.aspx?cat=01b6f15f-42eb-49cb-a221-ed56615e1c47&dis=3166b8f0-74bb-47e8-bbe0-eb36ce333abf
I'd like this feature too but I do have a work around. After creating the pan in ICE crop it and export to disk. I suggest setting JPEG quality to 100. Once the new JPEG is created copy and paste it (creating 2 identical copies of the same image) Now create a new ICE project and load these 2 images. Now it's cropped and can be uploaded to Photosynth. I can't see that any functionality is lost doing this and quality seems to be the same so long as you set JPEG quality to 100.
Thanks for this tip Interspace, works great
The functionality that is lost is that Interspace's technique results in a flat panorama instead of a correct wraparound panorama.
