Created a great synth or panorama? Shot some great photos? Showcase some of your best work here.
Today's announcement of the integration of Bing Maps and Photosynth (http://blogs.msdn.com/photosynth/archive/2009/12/01/photosynths-in-bing-maps-dive-in.aspx) means that the best synths are going to get a lot more viewers than ever before. We've made editorial choices about which synths to feature prominently on Bing Maps, but you know your favorite cities and landmarks better than we do. If you think that a different synth should be featured for some place you care about, please make the case on this thread. We're looking forward to hearing from you.
something from Tallinn? capital of Estonia http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=30c55723-d7fb-4265-8164-6c6edb5cef61

I'd love to have my synth added to Geneva. It offers a great view of the lake of Geneva. Just have it geotagged. http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=45785823-d88b-4cdc-999a-6693c0645dd1
thanks! these are nice. I've upgraded them. :)
One of the most beautiful cathedrals in the town of Sumy (Ukraine). By the way, how can I have it geotagged? http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=2c85f59b-6b8f-4b39-84fb-1375f03ac7bf
Chernenko, when you are signed into your account and looking at your synth, click the 'Edit Synth' button under the title. When you are in the synth editor, go to the geotag tab, browse to the correct place on the map, drag the pin onto the map, save, geo-align, and save again.
Thank you, Nathanael. As they say, it's never too late to learn :)
Chernenko - Nice synth, I just marked it as featured for Sumy.
i wonder if bing will feature mine once i start doing them as i live on the small caribbean island of st. maarten and would love to see some of our local areas on bing maps, i mean theirs no real highres arials of the island, and on top of that no 3/4 view just means the islanddoesnt show much of anything on bing or google maps
Phantam, if you have any pilot friends on the island who could take you up in a helicopter or plane, maybe you could make some aerial synths. They wouldn't show up the exact same way that normal 3/4 views do (we would still have to open one synth at a time), but you essentially have the power now to put whatever you want on the map for yourself. Since flying can be expensive, if you think you'll get the chance to fly my best advice is to learn how to synth on the ground and once you have a firm idea of how you like to approach shooting things, discuss your method with the pilot and work out a flight plan, before taking off, that will meet your objectives efficiently. Even if you can't make it up in the air, I'll be watching for what you come up with.
My first synth http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=67049f02-baf7-481f-b516-a47dc187a517. I did it when photosynth was still new. Also, the only decent synth in Dumaguete City, Philippines for now (I know since I did the other synth). It has 18 pictures and it still turned out well.
@almostchristian: unfortunately, a period after an URL breaks the link:( So, here's a good link to your synth http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=67049f02-baf7-481f-b516-a47dc187a517 .
Almostchristian: that's a great synth of an interesting place -- definitely "featured" material. I just made it so. Cheers, David.
Hey David, How are you? This is our entry: Rockefeller Center, New York, New York. http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=635cb63c-3624-451d-89f7-c7af19ec505c

AirPhotosLIVE's many aerial clusters have synths from 10 ft to 1000 ft above ground level. More importantly we have been hitting 100% synthy with up to 999 images. Very smooth motion and strong 3d clouds. We are doing synths in and around our small Minnesota community as a class project. We would love for them to show up on Bing if possible? Here is one of our first ones at our high school: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=89e7130a-5216-4f19-80af-c3fafb02e99f

Matt/damush33/ricky, any Photosynth that you geotag (as long as it meets a minimum quality bar - which all of yours seem to do) will automatically be shown on Bing Maps. Here's a link to Matt's: http://www.bing.com/maps/explore/#/nrccot9frkvb0q47 (I notice that the geotag isn't very accurate, as I suspect that your school, is not, in fact, in a lake :-). damush33 and ricky - your Photosynths won't show up unless you geotag them. To add a geotag just goto your synth, make sure you're signed in, click the edit button, and go to the geotag tab. Once you've added the geotag it will take about two hours to appear on Bing Maps. Have fun with your project and let us know if you have any more questions. Tony.

Briando, you stand a better chance if at least 25% of your photos matched each other (25% synthy or better). You can more or less guarantee that Photosynth will match the photos if you are careful to give it angles which don't differ from each other by much.

I've added a Photosynth, aligned it to the map, but unless I link to the map from my Photosynth, the clickable icon does not appear. I will be adding to this, mapping the opposite side of the street and hopefully getting some higher shots from some of the buildings, which will massively increase the scope fo the synth. I'll also do some closeups of the names on the War Memorial, to make them a little easier to read. http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=400222a6-cf2b-4e2b-9d9e-0b984341640b
Just deleted the synth I put up a couple days ago of the UCB campus, because I created a better, more "synthy" one here: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=48030870-e1ac-4131-a04b-ecefc9e930ab I really think it should be featured... captures a lot of the energy and activity on UC Berkeley's campus... at a historical site: Sproul Plaza. Thanks again! :)

I've been in a gazebo close to my home. I've made some shots from the top, not the best, and not 360° (i thought up there it will cover the whole FOV, seems it didn't) but i'd be glad if you'd put it out on bing maps, as there are only a few synths from the area, like: my house, etc, but this place is a stop of a hiking-road. I have geoaligned the images. the link is: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=cc8363b1-b39c-450a-8925-34f737e7c0e9 Thanks!

Hi, I have completed two synths for Ireland, Dublin, Skerries. The synths are for two locations – Skerries Monument on the main street and also Skerries Harbour. Both of them turned out quite well and I am sure you will take time to consider tagging them to the map view. I will be completing more synths of Skerries in the coming weeks and months and hopefully these can also be published and tagged to a map view. I noticed there are NO photosynths in Arcata, CA. The Arcata Plaza is a very popular social gathering spot, with a huge statue of William McKinley in the center. I took a 400+ shot photosynth that would love to see added to the bing maps. Check it out and let me know what you think.
Sorry. http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=5a127475-f5f8-444c-b7ce-ebe39056be1c
Yooperjb - all you need to do to have your Arcata synth appear on the map is add a geotag to it. This forum is about selecting the best synth in an area to be featured over others from the same area. If there are no other synths in Arcata you'll automatically be shown - if you add a geotag that is.
TonyErnst - I've added geotags to all my synths and none of them have appeared on Bing. Does it take some time for them to enter into the system? Most of them are in rather desolute areas where no other synths exist. Thanks.

yooperjb - Yes, once you add a geotag it can take up to a couple hours for them to make it out to Bing Maps. I just looked and they are showing up for me now. volume - We wont be exporting panoramas to Bing Maps until our next release. This will be in the not-too-distant future. Since you've geotagged them once we ship they should start appearing automatically

I created some synths and panaromas while vacationing in Alaska. They are of areas that are a bit off the beaten path. Featuring them would allow others to 'visit' them even if Alaska isn't in their travel plans this year. Panaromas: Leaving Seward Alaska: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=f6c5db5e-f8fc-4782-90fb-5768094fc8ca A View of the Bay from Otter Cove Resort near Homer Alaska: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=41d6eb3a-188e-4c41-97f8-7290f4fea28d Synths: Three of the Kennicott Copper Mill http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=fdd44c1b-f824-41b4-b9e8-adf49d9a88bd http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=2b06fc9b-fda4-4971-b0a5-2dbcf257a4bc http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=3173f6d8-23de-409a-8959-e1d4334a6381 And my favorite, the Worthington Glacier north of Valdez Alaska http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=6e760104-23ba-4b96-8efc-694650f0475e
I would have loved to have taken more photographs of this Japanese Garden, but my time was limited. I wanted to convey to the veiwer of the photographic synth, a sense of walking through and actually "being there". I wanted to include the entire garden, Koi fish, lily pads and more detail of the beautiful plants. I still have the original photos, so I may go back and try to capture the entire garden walk through along with more of the intricate detail. The point cloud turned out not to bad, but I think in this case, the photographs should be the preferred method of viewing.
I always do that. I forgot to place the link. Sorry. http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=60cbbfd7-0f01-424a-8de2-327ff5dafeff
Another synth for your consideration. A park statue which has been a part our city's identity for a long time. I remember climbing on this statue as a kid. To photograph this statue, I had to climb all over it again. Understandably, I got a few strange looks from people passing by. http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=7b69a5bb-3511-4f0d-8d93-d696e816ce0b
Here's a panorama PhotoSynth of Buckingham Palace (taken from the Park Lane Hilton) which I've created from a set of 27 high quality professionally taken photographs taken for a forthcoming book to mark the London Olympics. http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=44e86822-d676-4e5d-a106-2d55bdb12482

There is a lot more to this synth, and I will upload them shortly, after I take a bit of a break. As you click through this synth, I offer you a challenge. Try not to make a "chugga -chugga...woo - woo " sound like I did !
Oh I forgot to mention, the National Birtday of Canada. And here is that word we all love ... "Eh ?" and how about "touque"?

How about a synth created from shots taken on top of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, France? Emphasis is on the city as seen from up high - but there are plenty of spires and gargoyles. This synth is somewhat different from all the synths I have seen. I tried to recreate the experience of walking through the old capital city of Malta, Mdina. It is by far one of the largest synths with 594 photos and 100% synthy. I really appreciate if you could consider to feature it on Photosynth first page and Bing Maps. Thank you :) http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=841c298a-5f8e-43e0-b912-7a4a1c31c198
In addition to my previous post I would like to thank you for publishing my Grand Harbour of Malta HDR panorama on the first page of Photosynth.net I was really happy with the numerous views and positive comments. Hi Guys, I've recently started an Aerial Photography business from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). I've just come across Photosynth and am really blown away by what it can do. It is a fantastic introduction to Photogrammetry and good fun too. It's looking like my work lends itself quite well to Photosynth. Here's some work I did in York, United Kingdom. Hopefully this is the sort of thing you want. Please let me know. http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=5b94cf47-d148-40f3-bc62-c008f4b1f99a I have some more that I'll release once I get permission from my customers.

I am working on a project that would highlight the ability of synths to allow full exploration of residual spaces that are unintentionally created when buildings and monuments are erected. WilderWing, you can geotag your own synths and panos. I left some quick instructions on your synth. If you want to be one of Mobile's featured synths or panos, here's your competition: http://www.bing.com/maps/explore/#/h9ftldlq8rgjvvs2
this is wilder wing how do i upload it to bing maps
Wilderwing, you appear to have already followed my instructions, under your synth, on how to complete geotagging. We can all now see your synth on Bing Maps by clicking the map thumbnail under your synth on the left side of the page. For someone who just opened http://bing.com/maps/ and wanted to see your synth, but didn't have a link to it, they should search for St. Paul's in Mobile Alabama and then should just click on 'Map Apps' > 'Photosynth' and they ought to see your synth there on the map once they zoom in to the field. Either that or you could just share a link to the synth open on the map.

I'm very excited and actually blown away by the response to my latest panoramic photography of the Cherry blossoms around the Washington, D.C. Tidal Basin.
