I receive an error message when I select the link to Facebook fill in the description and try to link. Is there any documentation on how to work this feature?

Hmm. Something has definitely broken there. Even before you click the [Share] button on Facebook, something is wrong, as the synth/pano's thumbnail is not being displayed, nor its title and description being fetched.

There's no trick to getting this to work. It may be that Facebook changed something and that the Photosynth team will need to update how they interact with Facebook, or there may be something wrong with the piece of the Photosynth site that handles this.

Regardless, sorry that this was your first experience. I'll make sure that the Photosynth team knows that this is a problem and hopefully it will be resolved for us soon.
Yes -- thanks for reporting this Nicholas. We haven't updated these pages in the last month, so I do think that there may have been a change on the Facebook end. We will investigate.
We've verified that it's a problem on Facebook's side. At present it's the top issue on their Live Site Issues list: http://developers.facebook.com/live_status/

Hopefully they'll fix it today.
David.

Nicholas, I just tried it and it's working again. Give it another shot.

Note that it just automatically creates a shortcut on Facebook to come visit your synth or panos's page here on the site. Unfortunately, Facebook does not provide an easy way to embed our synths inside of Facebook yet.

It does not surprise me that the difficulty is on Facebook's side. They run a fairly closed system, for better or worse.

Of the alternatives, I have recently switched to a blog-based method of publication. I have found that Google's Blogspot allows a great deal of HTML modification. Most importantly, it is iframe-friendly :)

I expect that once Photosynths/ICE Exports/Silverlight become mainstream or popular enough, then Facebook will take the steps to slightly change their architecture to accommodate.

Hi Guys,
First thank you for such good apps for the iPhone, I have been having an issue with uploading images to facebook it keep hanging on the white facebook screen.

I have closed all the apps running in the back round rebooted the phone few time still the same issue, even under account I tap facebook to login again the same issue but windows live logged in no issue, I wonder if there is an issue between the app and facebook.
