Geotags, aerial synths, street synths… capturing events as they happen. If you can mark it on a map, then this is the place to talk about it.
Brisbane is flooded this week with some 16,000 home and business with water damage and 100,000+ without power. I ventured out to take some high quality shots of the river just after it peaked. I've uploaded 5 to Photosynth including this 2.43 Gigapixel panorama: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=04bf331f-a1d1-48ea-8af7-906ff2f8a162 The others: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=6b918a12-edb8-4afd-bbf6-0da2b6701400 http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=66b24bd7-f326-4287-bbdf-cd3a78be63b2 http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=8f126a8a-0175-4e36-8fa5-6a583477d134 http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=37f9c406-a1b4-4b9b-beaa-2502d240434a On the technical side the 2.43 Gigapixel used just over 12 GB RAM and about 50GB of temp drive space to process. It was taken with a Gigapan pro and a Canon 450d with a 200mm L. This "structured panorama" was made from 385 photos and processed in a few hours. The shots took about 15min to take.
