Geotags, aerial synths, street synths… capturing events as they happen. If you can mark it on a map, then this is the place to talk about it.
I have bought myself a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ10 (ZS7 in USA) equipped with GPS a few days ago to enjoy my vacation in France that is coming up. Can anyone point me to experiences with using GPS cameras and synthing? Thanks in advance.
The GPS won't help in the placement of the individual photos, as far as I know, but the synth should auto-geotag itself at the averaged latitude-longitude coordinates of the photos that are in the synth.
I have reported in the bug forum that auto-geoplacement of Photosynth is incorrect. Just read that I am not the only one with that experience.
Can imagine that if the gps co-ordinates of each photo are precise enough that the synthing process could make use of that knowledge. I guess there will be more and more photos taken with gps equipped smartphones.
