Geotags, aerial synths, street synths… capturing events as they happen. If you can mark it on a map, then this is the place to talk about it.
I would love to see more news related synths. Photosynth is perfect for news because you can put the story in context or show the entire scale of an event (for example flood, fire, earthquake, etc). If you're a news photographer are you using Photosynth yet? If not, what are the barriers? My favorite scenario for news synthing would be a news helicopter with a 1080p camera. It should be easy to extract stills from that footage and you could get some incredibly detailed aerial synths.
