Did the leaves fall off? Something not working right? Let us know how we can improve the Photosynth experience.
1. Photosynth alone works OK.
2. ICE (version 1.4.4)works OK and without problem exports stitched panorama to HD.
3. By using "Publish to Web" button seems everything runing OK, but on the end of processing opens Photosynth sheet (the same as by simple photosynthesis like by 1.) and asks for minimaly 3 picters!!!
Am I doing something wrongly???
I used both Panorama and Structured Panorama possibilities. Have XP.
Thanks for help in advance!
sigoves, does your Windows desktop name have accented characters in it?
If so, the file path is probably being broken when ICE attempts to pass it to the Photosynth app for Windows.
To resolve this error, you will need to create a new Windows desktop named without any non-ASCII characters in it.
Unfortunately, renaming your desktop in the User control panel will not fix this, as the folder path ( C:\Documents and Settings\%your username here%\ ) will stay the same, regardless of what is displayed on the Windows user selection screen and Start Menu.
Thanks Nathanael! You are probably fully right. :) Actually the folder path contains accented characters common in the Czech language! I never had any problem concerning this fact in the past. So, it means to fully reinstal whole computer now? Is there any possibility to make transfer between ICE and Photosynth "somehow off line"?
No, I'm sorry to not be clear. You don't have to reinstall the entire operating system. You will need to create a new desktop.
Here is how to do that:
1: When you are logged into Windows, click 'Start'
2: Click the small photo at the top of your Start Menu
(This will open a window called 'User Accounts'.)
3: Click the 'Home' button at the top of the 'User Accounts' window.
4: Click 'Create a new account'
5: Type a name for this new account, carefully avoiding accented characters.
6: Click 'Next'
7: Choose 'Computer Administrator' and click 'Create Account'.
8: Click on 'Start'
9: Choose 'Log Off'
10: On Windows' Welcome screen, choose the new desktop. Windows will then create all the files necessary for the new user, such as their own empty 'My Documents' folder, etc.
When you are on the new desktop, all of your current programs will still be installed (Photosynth and ICE, for example).
Some programs may have saved settings in your old desktop, so that each user on the computer can use the program with their own personal settings, but everything that is already installed should still be usable without reinstalling anything.
Please let me know if you need any more help.
Dear Nathanael, the problem is fully resolved!
