Did the leaves fall off? Something not working right? Let us know how we can improve the Photosynth experience.
I made a synth titled "Cypress table" that seems to act all crazy. Out of order and can't view parts that I know are there and jumps badly and has an unrelated image in it. All the previous synths have been fine after I reset the order, but this one won't correct.
Hello, The synther matches images by looking for similar patterns... and since you're moving the table around rather than moving around the table... the synther is matching the highly textured background instead of the table. For better results either use a blank background like a white sheet and rotate your subject, or move around your subject. Cheers, +D
I took a look at this one as well and as for the unrelated photo being included and being unable to "view parts that I know are there" go (I assume you mean some photos are missing?), I'm afraid that sounds like user error when loading photos into the synther. The photos that are in the synth do seem to be in a logical order (the rotation of the table and then the raising of the camera to look at the top of the table). I used the comma and period keys on my keyboard to advance and retreat through your photos by filename in both the Silverlight and Direct3D viewers and they both agree on the order. (The older Direct3D viewer won't obey your 'By Filename' setting but since everyone who loads your synth will be viewing it in the Silverlight viewer by default this shouldn't be a problem. If I understood you correctly to be saying that you're not seeing photos in the synth that should be there, I would just try resynthing all the photos that you want to be included.
Thanks,I did delete the first and re-load and re-synth and it is better. I deleted the unrelated photo. I will try similar and move around instead of moving the table until I get a big enough turntable. I really like Photosynth and want to use it on my website. How do I put a link directly to the synths instead of telling people to use the search box?
How can I share these on Facebook?
You can get a code snippet to insert a synth into a webpage by clicking the icon to the right of the synth. Just copy/paste it into the HTML. It uses an IFrame so it wont work in facebook. If all you want is a link you can click the envelope button and you'll get the URL. Hope this helps.
Sharing on Facebook is not as nice as the Photosynth guys hope to make it in the future, but getting a link to a specific synth to share is simple. To link to a synth just copy the address in your browser's address bar when you have the synth you wanted to share loaded. To share it on Facebook, sign in and you should see four icons below where you can type with a big blue 'Share' button to the right. Hover over the icons until you find the 'Link' one. (It's currently the third icon of the four when I loaded the page today.) Other websites where you have more control over what can be posted like your http://allthefinestinwood.com/ can embed any Photosynth in any page. To get the HTML code to paste into your page, click on the Embed icon to the right of any synth. It will pop up a bit of code that you can copy.
Whoops. I guess Tony posted while I had stepped away from the computer.
Thanks, I have posted links now. I don't know why it didn't work when I first tried. I probably did it wrong.
