I'm unable to create a synth.  I can login to the web page, but when I try to create, I get "Do you hear that? It's the sound of us banging on our authenticaion servers, which currently aren't working.  Please try again later"

I've had a windows live (hotmail) account for years and even have tried to create a new account to check.  I've tried IE7 and FF3 (I can't try IE8 since this is a work computer).  I've tried disabling the firewall and antivirus.  I have a profile on photosynth.  I've tried repairing and reinstalling photosynth.

I'm running windows vista enterprise.
