No idea what I'm doing wrong. I have 30+ photos uploaded but the "Synth" button is not available - only Cancel. Now what?

Hello, Laurenization,

This sounds to me as though you haven't given your synth a title.

When you're looking at the 'Create a Synth' window, the upper most left text field (to the left of the [Add Photos] button and above the [Use Selected Photo] button (which is used for choosing your synth's thumbnail image)) is where you type your synth's name|title.

The [Synth] button just needs three or more photos and a title, after you've signed in, to activate.

Let me know if you need anything else.

P.S. Two other helpful beginner tips are:

1: If you want your name (or at least your Photosynth username or organization or business' name) to appear next to the photo license you've selected for the photos in your synth (Copyright, Creative Commons, Public Domain, etc.) in the lower left corner of the Photosynth viewer, you should use a basic photo editing program like Windows Explorer or Windows Live Photo Gallery to edit your photos' 'Author' tags. (You can highlight all the photos and add the name one time to affect all of the photos and save time.)

2: If you've taken your photos more like a panorama (keeping the camera lens in one place and looking all around you while staying in one position) than a Photosynth (allowing yourself to zoom in and out, move toward, away from, all around and through an environment), then you will probably want to upload the photos as a panorama instead of a photosynth. Do this using Microsoft ICE. http://bit.ly/microsoftice
