520 floating bridge from catwalk

"WSDOT had a drawing to select a few members of the public to get a tour of the 520 bridge. I entered and won! I was so happy that they opened the bridge while we were out there, I had always wanted to see how it worked. It was just as cool that we got to go down inside one of the pontoons. Those things are crazy, like a mix of the hatch from lost with an old level from Quake or something. Seriously, if you design video games you must check this place out."

I like it a lot Ken. It's maybe more interesting that you weren't on top of the hill... Lots of kid action from this vantage point.

Myrtle Edwards gigapan attempt

"I put my Canon G9 on the gigapan and let it run. This was the first time I'd tried the Canon and I think I accidentally turned off manual focus so when the camera was pointed at sky or water it couldn't focus in time and missed the shot. ICE got pretty confused about the geometry on this one, it should have been about 200 degrees but ICE thinks it was almost 360. I probably messed up the settings."

"Louisa Boren park on 15th. Obviously I need to see if I can convince the stitcher to expose for the lighter parts of the scene because this park has a gorgeous view of Lake Washington, Mt. Baker and the Cascades. I might just have to tweak all the exposures, thank goodness I shot in RAW."

Hmm, clearly this needs some work because the view from this park is gorgeous but all you can see here is white.

"This is an engineering mockup of the Lunar Rover at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, WA. These rovers were used on 3 lunar missions (Apollo 15-17) and were driven for more than 56 miles on the surface of the moon. You can read more about the how the rover was built and operated at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunar_rover I'd like to go back sometime and shoot again with a tripod - these were all taken at ISO 3200 due to the dark nature of the exhibit. I wish I had a clearer shot of the instrument panel."

I don't know anything about the Andrew, the test lead for Streetside told me they use Eugene. I don't think it's anything official, just a pet name more than anything.

Playhouse

"I've been wanting to get a playhouse for the girls for a while but had a hard time finding the right one. Did you know that they make $10,000 playhouses? I didn't. Anyway we found a reasonable kit and Grandpa and Uncle Scott came over and helped me put it together. Thank goodness they did - it took the 3 of us all day. My favorite part is the window in the back, Ana likes to serve smoothies and lattes from back there. Does anyone know where I can find a toy espresso machine?"
