One of the best mine / tunnel synths ever. Great technique, reconstructed the true shape of the tunnel and captured great details. Nice job!

Soda Dam

"A natural dam on the Jemez river. The Soda Dam is formed by mineral rich water rising to the surface of the earth through hot springs. Once exposed to open air and cooling, the water can no longer hold the dissolved minerals, which have built up in thin layers over thousands of years to form this dam."

Lava tube part1

"My first attempt to synth this cave worked, but photosynth didn't seem to like 600+ photos and appears to only to display the point cloud in 2 or 3 sections, not all at once. The new overhead view will only display one portion of the cave, no matter which section is being viewed at the time, so I'm re-uploading the synth in pieces to see if I can tell how accurate my synth is compared to a traditional cave map."

The complete set of 613 photos is "100% synthy", (see my original "Lava Tube" synth) and you can navigate the entire set of photos, but the viewer appears only to be able to display a certain number of images or points at one time.
I'm splitting the whole synth into smaller synths so I can see the overhead views for the whole cave, not just the one section that shows up on the large synth.
I'll get back there one day to photograph more of the tubes in the area, but for now I'm about 2000 miles away!

Adam Stephen House and dig

"House built by Martinsburg, WV founder, Revolutionary War General Adam Stephen. The house is supposed to have been built over a natural cave entrance, (since filled in) possibly as an escape route in case of Indian attack. This most recent effort by the Tri-State Grotto of the National Speleological Society to locate the cave follows a rock ledge which forms the ceiling of the tunnel, towards an area of the yard that a micro-gravity survey indicates may contain open space."

Hey void23 -- if you add a "highlight" to the bottom of the dig, you can get Photosynth to do all the work of pulling people from the outside to the bottom. Should only take 1 minute!
