It was very impressive, and the ruins were also extremely inpressive, as well as being quite fun to play in."

I thought a subway station would be the best place to do this. I suppose the biggest trouble was that there were a lot of people getting into the shots. I was too embarrassed to take tons of pictures that people might be in, so my wife took them.

There was more to the inside of the station, but it was very dark, and unfortunately couldn't connect itself to the stairs going down due to the amount of people that got into the shots. Maybe next time.

Anyway, check out the point-cloud! You can see right into the underground portion. I love it."

Thanks for the suggestion. I see what you mean by moving via the highlights. It's not something that I usually try, but I can see how it can be appealing.
I usually view synths with the old viewer since it shows the point cloud better, but unfortunately the highlights don't carry over.

Specifically, not too far away from the 59th Street subway station. The sky was cloudy and the sun was only up for a little bit longer, so my light ended up disappearing, meaning I had to use longer exposure times to get more light in. Even so, I brightened a lot of these photos already. Unfortunately, many of them also turned out blurry. Oh well.

Most of the walk is straight-forward. sometimes you have to turn in order to move forward, which is a little annoying, since I was still moving forward at the time. The entire thing is synthed when it comes to the photos, but for some reason I don't understand, the point cloud doesn't reflect that. It seems to stop and then stop and start again.
Also, you can really only take the trip forward. There is no trip back."

Just a sand sculpture thing. Half is a cat with its tail and the other half is just three holes that all meet underneath the mound. In the point cloud, you can actually see some of the inside of the holes, and about how deep they were underneath the mound on top. After finishing it, we sat on it."

The point cloud on this is great, really shows the texture and nice to dive under the sand.

I experimented a bit with the possibility of doing such a synth, but I found that regular food dye in water can't work. It spreads out way too fast, and if you let it sit for a bit to calm down, it mostly just keeps spreading slowly until it's evenly dispersed.
The only thing I can thing of that might help is using some kind of thicker more viscous liquid, but I have nothing like that to experiment with, and nothing in particular comes to mind. It is certainly a wonderful idea. If only we could find a chemist of some sort that might help us out with the prep work.
