Its main attraction is the impressive polarship FRAM (eng. "Forward") from 1892. It is said that the FRAM is the strongest wooden ship ever build. It was designed for Fridtjof Nansen's 1893 Arctic expedition and was supposed to freeze into the ice sheet and float with it over North Pole. Nansen's idea was to build a ship that could survive the pressure not by pure strenght but because it would be of shape designed to let the ice push the ship up, so it would "float" on top of the the ice. The ship had spent nearly 3 years baset in the Arctic ice. Next FRAM was used by Roald Amundsen in his southern polar expediton 1910-1912, the first to reach South Pole ( 14.December .1911, 100 years ago!!! ) Technical information: Canon 5D 12.9mpx, ISO 100, Canon 24-105L at 24mm, manual f=11, 13s each shot, manual focus at 3.8m, tripod (without QTVR pano head), 52 shots jpg, ICE stitcher"

I got dark quite soon, so I didn't finish panoramas in the other directions. It was pretty difficult to take this pano since the windonw was quite narrow. I have to move the tripod and still keep corrent overlap without no gaps between each images."

by MagiView "A 145° view of Brussels, from the Belfry of the Brussels Town Hall on the Grand Place (2.8 km away) to the skyline of the city of Antwerp (40 km away). This panorama captures at least 60 churches, 4 town halls, 10 watertowers, and another 50 remarquable buildings, located in 8 of the 19 Brussels communes (Brussels City, Saint-Gilles, Ganshoren, Anderlecht, Schaerbeek, Molembeek, Laeken, Koekelberg, Jette, Neder-Over Hembeek), and in over 20 towns and villages in Flanders (including Sint-Pieters-Leuw, Asse, Relegem, Brussegem, Peizegem, Londerzeel, Strombeek-Bever, Puurs, Doel, Nieuwenrode, Grimbergen, Boom, Koningslo, Ruppelmonde, Hemiksem, Antwerp, Humbeek and Leest). About 30 of the 120+ landmarks that can be seen (or guessed) on this pano are over 16 km away (10 miles), the farest of the ones identified so far being the Nuclear Plant of Doel (52 km away), the KBC tower in Antwerp (40 km away), Our Lady church in Ruppelmonde (30km away), the convent of Hemiksem (30km away), and the St. Pieters Church in Puurs (25 km away). This pano stitches 690 photos shot on a clear November day around noon from the top of the Brusilia building in Schaerbeek (Brussels). It covers the view from South-East to North. I used a Nikon D7000 with a 300mm f4 lens and a Gigapan Epic Pro motorized head.
