And very nice it is too.

I was going to delete it after testing it out, but it seems the level of synthyness or the number of pictures or something has led to photosynth dropping the display quality somewhat - they were all taken at 2 megapixel (1600x1200), after finding that using VGA (640x480) was just too chunky to synth reliably, but they're probably now down to a lot less than that, maybe 400x300 with fairly severe compression... very evident if you go full screen then zoom in so each pic almost fills the frame. Unfortunate, but helps dodge any possible copyright foibles as it gives an idea of this quite neat exhibition without exposing any fine details of the images themselves. Come on down and take a look for yourself, and buy something in the college shop while you're here!

Also, more so even than looking at all the pictures, switch it into point cloud mode and flick through the images manually. Blimey, that's a nice auto-generated 3D model, if you ignore the slight hiccup where the (now unreadable 9_9) information poster and one of the pictures has been synthed onto completely the wrong wall (and part of a door). It's even synthed in things that I hardly noticed were in the images until I let it fly around - like the conifer trees and tower blocks in the distance, poking over the roofs of the halls of residence and other buildings. Get in! Particularly look for the nice super-3D effect where it swoops from one far low corner of the stairwell up onto the gallery walk itself in one motion. Just wow. Could turn this into a Quake level or something :D

Rock and roll. For a finale switch it into "sequence by filename" mode and let it run automatically - it should start in the stairwell looking all around, then stripe up and down the corridor with the viewpoint facing a certain way each time (matching how I walked it), then finish up with the close-ups of the pictures.

I do really like how this turned out, excepting the misplaced pieces and the low rez."

<a10:updated>2008-09-15T02:56:53Z</a10:updated><a10:content type="text/html" src="http://photosynth.net/view/9790596b-6b78-4a57-9d59-aa0237cbb53c" />

<a10:author><a10:name>micomello</a10:name><a10:uri>http://photosynth.net/userprofilepage.aspx?user=micomello</a10:uri></a10:author>
The Cloud Gate, Millennium Park, Chicago

<img src="http://cdn1.ps1.photosynth.net/synth/s01001100-ACgBWupjciM/metadata.synth_files/thumb.jpg" alt="The Cloud Gate, Millennium Park, Chicago" title"The Cloud Gate, Millennium Park, Chicago" /> by micomello

<a10:updated>2009-09-07T20:36:39Z</a10:updated><a10:content type="text/html" src="http://photosynth.net/view/77a78d29-3427-4360-8ba7-0004aee5854f" />

<a10:author><a10:name>sgalagan</a10:name><a10:uri>http://photosynth.net/userprofilepage.aspx?user=sgalagan</a10:uri></a10:author>
St. Varvaras chapel in the Donetsk, Ukraine

<img src="http://cdn2.ps1.photosynth.net/synth/s01001200-ABMHnzGkeCM/metadata.synth_files/thumb.jpg" alt="St. Varvaras chapel in the Donetsk, Ukraine" title"St. Varvaras chapel in the Donetsk, Ukraine" /> by sgalagan "See also other Donetsk Synths

Donbass Arena panorama
http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=3d5ff94a-2f74-4415-8796-37388f57ff55

Donbass Arena inside
http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=7adc4998-45cd-4143-87b1-67cdc47a8770

Shakhtar Square
http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=0c59160d-390b-4060-ab49-33122cfa4f6c

Tsar cannon monument
http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=fb6ea53f-6337-4709-a85c-4e2475512a69

Lenina square panorama
http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=4281ecc4-aa5b-427d-9fa7-42d7a6377a73

Steel works park
http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=20ef8453-80b4-4d19-9aab-d178a657fe2c

Cathedral
http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=80e95b63-12c8-4622-a59f-05206b7f99fb"

<a10:updated>2010-08-24T06:53:43Z</a10:updated><a10:content type="text/html" src="http://photosynth.net/view/7c22a0e9-ae64-468f-ac88-286925a52e26" />

<a10:author><a10:name>NationalGeographic</a10:name><a10:uri>http://photosynth.net/userprofilepage.aspx?user=NationalGeographic</a10:uri></a10:author>
National Geographic: Taj Mahal - Front

<img src="http://cdn1.ps1.photosynth.net/synth/s01001100-AF8Gp60qeCM/metadata.synth_files/thumb.jpg" alt="National Geographic: Taj Mahal - Front " title"National Geographic: Taj Mahal - Front " /> by NationalGeographic "Built in the early 1630s by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a tribute to his second wife, Mumtaz Mahal, the Taj Mahal stands as one of India’s most iconic beauties. Its precise symmetry and impeccable detail—it’s decorated with calligraphy from the Koran and with carvings of flowers inlaid with precious stones—make this white marble structure one of the world’s most breathtaking pieces of architecture. Located by the Yamuna River, the Taj took 22 years and 20,000 workers to complete. It contains a tomb (for Mumtaz) and a mosque, as well as gardens, gateways, and fountains. The main structure is surrounded by four minarets, which were built to lean out slightly so that an earthquake wouldn’t cause them to fall on the palace.
