This synth made from photos taken from the Sun Gate down to Machu Picchu itself. The geometries here are incredible, and there are a ton of unique shapes and materials that make it perfect for creating a Photosynth. by MagiView "A 145° view of Brussels, from the Belfry of the Brussels Town Hall on the Grand Place (2.8 km away) to the skyline of the city of Antwerp (40 km away). This panorama captures at least 60 churches, 4 town halls, 10 watertowers, and another 50 remarquable buildings, located in 8 of the 19 Brussels communes (Brussels City, Saint-Gilles, Ganshoren, Anderlecht, Schaerbeek, Molembeek, Laeken, Koekelberg, Jette, Neder-Over Hembeek), and in over 20 towns and villages in Flanders (including Sint-Pieters-Leuw, Asse, Relegem, Brussegem, Peizegem, Londerzeel, Strombeek-Bever, Puurs, Doel, Nieuwenrode, Grimbergen, Boom, Koningslo, Ruppelmonde, Hemiksem, Antwerp, Humbeek and Leest). About 30 of the 120+ landmarks that can be seen (or guessed) on this pano are over 16 km away (10 miles), the farest of the ones identified so far being the Nuclear Plant of Doel (52 km away), the KBC tower in Antwerp (40 km away), Our Lady church in Ruppelmonde (30km away), the convent of Hemiksem (30km away), and the St. Pieters Church in Puurs (25 km away). This pano stitches 690 photos shot on a clear November day around noon from the top of the Brusilia building in Schaerbeek (Brussels). It covers the view from South-East to North. I used a Nikon D7000 with a 300mm f4 lens and a Gigapan Epic Pro motorized head. by mattu "This 10Gigapixel image is a merge of 659 22Mpixel images shot with Canon 1ds MarkIII. We modified a Meade telescope mount to automatically rotate the camera. We were parked at the corner of the glacier point balcony for about 90 minutes to capture this. The stitching was done via Microsoft ICE and took about 2 hours on an 8 core machine.
