by mattu "This is a 507 image stitch done in Microsoft ICE. It was shot with a Canon 1ds MarkIII and a custom pan/tilt head. This was shot on Friday May 30th, 2008 as part of the Yosemite Extreme Panorama Project: http://hdview.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!1AD33AA162CE96C2!611.entry So far I've been able to find 35 climbers, all added as highlights. If anyone out there knows who was climbing El Cap. on that day I'd love to caption the highlights with names. Also, if you find more climbers please send me a link by clicking 'share' under the photo. This image looks tilted because this pano is all above the horizon and the Photosynth viewer does a perspective tilt to center the image on the screen. The church was built from 1767 to 1769 by Daniel Campbell. A gallery was added in 1830 and the organ in 1890."

by PGRic "This stone, carved in the 'cup and ring' tradition can be found on High Green, to the NE of Skyreholme and Appletreewick, North Yorkshire, England. Most archaeologists believe that such carvings were created approx 6000-3500 years ago, in the period spanning the late Neolithic to early Bronze Age. Exactly why they were carved is not known, but their regional variation in complexity, topographic setting, context and also type of stone (boulder / outcrop) may suggest multiple meanings existed. This particular carved rock has been incorporated into walling, part of which has been dismantled here by Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority for recording and the building of a stile."
