On a beautifual Saturday afternoon (February 13th, 2010), local students came together to paint four custom canvases in a courtyard directly in the shadow of the courthouse building. Famed local artist Romero Britto will supervise a group of local high school students as they publicly create a piece of art to mark the 100th anniversary of South Florida's 11th Judicial Circuit. The completed work, which deals with the dispensing of justice, will be on display in the Dade County Courthouse during a yearlong celebration. Britto, who believes that ``art is too important not to share,'' will give individual guidance to the 24 art students as they publicly paint four separate, five-foot canvases between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday outside the Historical Museum of Southern Florida, 101 W. Flagler St. The public is invited to watch the creation of the art work.
