by mattu "This 10Gigapixel image is a merge of 659 22Mpixel images shot with Canon 1ds MarkIII. We modified a Meade telescope mount to automatically rotate the camera. We were parked at the corner of the glacier point balcony for about 90 minutes to capture this. The stitching was done via Microsoft ICE and took about 2 hours on an 8 core machine. by KING.KING "洪秀全纪念馆是为纪念太平天国领袖洪秀全而建立的纪念性博物馆，位于花都区新华街新华路52号。1991年11月对外开放。纪念馆为青砖琉璃瓦仿古建筑，主体馆为二层半楼，占地面积1.33万平方米，建筑面积1715平方米。　　纪念馆前广场、展馆序厅分别安置洪秀全全身汉白玉半身铸铜像。馆内的陈列是在原故居纪念馆辅助陈列的基础上加以扩充，共分4个展室，以洪秀全青少年时期为重点，辅以花都天平天国其他诸英烈的史迹。展品中有洪秀全早年用过的书桌等，在“书房阁”出土的石狮子等文物70余件，图片238张。陈列采用场景造型、木刻浮雕、大幅油画等形式，重现洪秀全早年在故乡的生活和革命活动以及领导太平天国的史实。　　1988年1月国务院公布为全国重点文物保护单位，也是广东省、广州市爱国主义教育基地。纪念馆周围环境优雅，人文景观与自然环境和谐、统一，游客除可了解这位杰出的农民运动领袖成长初期的历史环境，还可感受到独特的客家民俗风情和浓郁的田园乡土气息。"

by CharlPe "This is one of three star sandstone attractions at the Natural Bridges National Monument near Blanding, Utah. I hiked the canyon with a friend in 2008 and 2009 and took the nearly 1,000 reference photos to make this synth. Yes, you can find us if you look hard enough. :-) The new highlights feature of Photosynth works very well for this synth. There are pictographs and petroglyphs all around the base of the bridge, and you can easily get to them now. The marble arrived at Elings Park in June 2004 and John carved this in 90 days. The sculpture depicts youth ascending a mountain with the help of others. The marble represents addiction and the individuals are in stages of freeing themselves. "Summit for Danny" was created in memory of Danny Bryant who died in 1995 of a drug overdose. by stlordsss "（文案來源：七星柴魚博物館網站）「鰹魚為花蓮水產大宗，每逢孟夏，其魚大至，一網可收二萬餘斤之魚」，「花蓮文獻」中是如此記載著光復後的漁業盛況。二十多年前，帶著一身的漁產製作技藝，余宗柏與好友從三棧來到了漁業盛豐的花蓮七星潭，靠著專精的柴魚製作經驗，開始了他們的事業與生活...。一腳踏進充滿暖意的柴魚工場，迎面而來的是陣陣煙霧、燻魚香氣，終年因燻煙而呈現焦黑的斑駁、低矮建築體，使得高個的人們不得不駝著身軀配合著它，忙進忙出的工人、魚車，這是多年來柴魚工場的風景寫照。民國七十年代後期，余宗柏先生因專心於主要事業—「宗泰食品」的研發與管理，漸漸的淡出工場，民國九十一年七月，柴魚工場也在好友正式宣佈退休下走入歷史，從此「七星柴魚工場」這名詞，也僅成為七星潭居民茶餘飯後的回味話題了。望著鉛華盡褪、沈寂蕭條的工廠，那些殺魚煮魚的忙亂景象，與高溫柴火劈啪響聲中夾雜的大聲對談，那些舊日日本人慕名來此選貨出口的繁盛景象…那些種種，彷彿昨日歷歷在目，當年72歲的余老不免開始思索，如何讓這引以為傲的漁場恢復昔日風采。「生活即是文化」並不因為結束而塵封消失，余老為了讓歷史得到見證，讓當地居民有個聚會、回憶場所，也為了讓更多年輕朋友了解台灣這與海共生的海洋民族性，2003年盛夏，透過各方力量的集結，特別邀回擁有60多年魚產製作經驗的老友親授技藝，「七星柴魚博物館」夢想開始成形，更為花蓮地區增添新文化風采。"
