It was built by Despot Đurađ Branković in the first half of the 15th century, during the era of the Serbian Despotate. Later that century it was further fortified by the Turks. The fortress withstood several sieges by Turks and Serbs, which it survived relatively unscathed. It was not until World War II that it was heavily damaged, by explosions and bombing. As of 2009 it is in the midst of extensive restoration and conservation work, despite which the fortress remains "one of the rare preserved courts of medieval Serbian rulers."

<a10:updated>2010-05-29T22:24:36Z</a10:updated><a10:content type="text/html" src="http://photosynth.net/view/3bcbde08-688c-4082-a88c-71b932a6acff" />

<a10:author><a10:name>dariusmonsef</a10:name><a10:uri>http://photosynth.net/userprofilepage.aspx?user=dariusmonsef</a10:uri></a10:author>
Head of Greg

<img src="http://cdn1.ps1.photosynth.net/synth/s01001100-ABAUqPdVmiM/metadata.synth_files/thumb.jpg" alt="Head of Greg" title"Head of Greg" /> by dariusmonsef "Greg was nice enough to let me try and synth his head as well as borrow his Canon 5D.

If you ever need camera equipment in Portland, drop by www.ClutchCamera.com. It was built between the two world wars, from 1931-1940 and its interior is still not fully completed.

Because of the rapid growth of the city and the increase in the number of residents, it became necessary by the beginning of the twentieth century to build a bigger church in the Belgrade quarter of Palilula. Frequent wars did not allow this until 1930 when a pair of Belgrade architects, the brothers Petar and Branko Krstić, both professors of the Faculty of Architecture, designed the plans for the new St. Mark's Church. The present building of St. Mark's Church was built according to their drawings between 1931 and 1940."

<a10:updated>2010-04-18T07:08:20Z</a10:updated><a10:content type="text/html" src="http://photosynth.net/view/424259e0-1007-4533-907d-aa66a84cec8b" />

<a10:author><a10:name>bronekkozka</a10:name><a10:uri>http://photosynth.net/userprofilepage.aspx?user=bronekkozka</a10:uri></a10:author>
Kew House Photosynth

<img src="http://cdn3.ps1.photosynth.net/synth/s01001300-ABQPW5angyM/metadata.synth_files/thumb.jpg" alt="Kew House Photosynth" title"Kew House Photosynth" /> by bronekkozka

<a10:updated>2009-07-25T22:38:38Z</a10:updated><a10:content type="text/html" src="http://photosynth.net/view/5efb13f4-7745-4c2a-93d0-6a6a95d5a11c" />
