by iSandy "Mikulov Castle is a castle situated in South Moravia, Czech Republic. 
The castle stands on a place of Slavonic settlement, where since the end of 13th century a stone castle stood. Its today's building comes from a reconstruction in 1719 - 1730 under the dukes of Dietrichstein.
The end of World War II meant a complete disaster for the castle, as the German troops withdrawing the town set fire on the castle. After a unique reconstruction in 1950s it became the seat of the Regional museum. Tourists can admire collections devoted to the history of wine production and they will also see the largest wine barrel in Central Europe (1014 hl)."
