by mattu "Shot from the Mt. Baker Ridge Viewpoint Park: http://mtbakerridgeviewpoint.com/ The park has a very nice metal platform cantilevered over the hillside. I noticed a lot of vibration in my camera viewfinder when I set up on the platform, it may be because the I-90 tunnel is directly beneath the platform. So, I ended up putting my tripod back on the sidewalk. Shot with a Gigapan, Canon 1ds MarkIII, Canon 300mm lens with a doubler (effective focal length 600mm). 108 pictures stitched and cropped in Microsoft ICE. Uploaded via the Photosynth Plugin for Photoshop."

Wonderful! Early snow, even for Denali! Sad news from the park this year with the bear fatality. Thanks for taking me back to a place I once called home. I shot my first panoramic imagery in Denali in 2005, seems like another lifetime.

by Curtis_Sleve "Halyomorpha halys - Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) Specimen was euthanized by rapid freezing, cleaned with H2O and placed on a slide. Slide was placed on microscope stage. A single Nikon 10x BD Plan objective with outer sleeve removed mounted in turret via RMS to BD adapter. All other objective openings sealed with electrical tape. Microscope head has been replaced with extension tubes connected to a Canon t3i (600D) camera. Linear polarizer placed inside extension tubes. Mirror lockup, 2nd curtain shutter and remote control cable used to minimize vibration. Specimen illuminated with 4 LEDs with simple paper cylinder diffusion. 2790 separate 1 second exposures focus stacked and merged into a single 1.09 gigapixel image of the left dorsal view. Image duplicated and flipped horizontally to make a 2.19 gigapixel image. Contrast, color, and sharpening adjustments applied. Enjoy -Curtis Sleve"

Yes, I think that this is the best pano from Malvern. I visited the hills about 3 times waiting for perfect visibility. Luckily the place is only 45 minutes from my house. I would like to do a Spring edition now, but the weather last 3 weeks is terrible.
