Caesar's Atlas Butterfly

by CharlPe "On Saturday, January 10th, 2009, I took my daughter to the Butterfly Pavilion in Westminster, CO. It was our first visit and I brought along the camera in hopes of finding a butterfly holding still long enough to synth. I found this Caesar's Atlas butterfly posing ever so nicely on a hanging branch. That is one huge butterfly - it's wingspan is about 6 inches. From their website at http://www.butterflies.org/, here is some background on the Butterfly Pavilion: Founded in July 1995 as the first stand-alone non-profit insect zoo in the nation, The Butterfly Pavilion is a 30,000 square foot facility situated on an 11-acre campus provided by the City of Westminster, Colorado."

Well, she's certainly comfortable in front of a camera.. She's already had more pictures taken of her than I've had taken of me.
