At the time there was a 15 m.p.h. speed limit on the railway. The magnificent 12 arch bridge, which dominates the estuary of Ballydehob, was the major engineering achievement of the line. Mounting losses, coal shortages and the arrival of buses and motor cars eventually brought the closure of the line. The final train ran on 27 January 1947 and the station finally closed altogether on 1 June 1953. Ballydehob was the main intermediate station on the railway.&#34;&#13;&#10;&#13;&#10;http&#58;&#47;&#47;en.wikipedia.org&#47;wiki&#47;Ballydehob&#35;Railway"<div class="commentBlock font12">

Myself, Nathan and David from the Photosynth team and a pilot friend of Photosynth&#58; Peter, flew into the North Cascade range for some exploration. It was a perfect day, completely calm, with beautiful light and just the right amount of mist in the valleys below us. We finished off with a circuit of Mount Baker, resulting in this synth. David and Nathan were taking wider angle shots at the same time and we plan on combining them into one uber synth.&#10;&#10;Be sure to check out the point cloud on this synth.&#10;&#10;Taken August 24, 2009&#10;Mount Baker Wilderness Area, Washington&#10;&#10;You can see more of my photography at&#58; http&#58;&#47;&#47;tonyernst.com"<div class="commentBlock font12">

I got a lot of excellent feedback from my previous attempt, from which I tried to make two synths. This was done with all of that advice in mind.&#10;&#10;The inlet at Kiholo Bay on the Big Island of Hawai&#96;i is a fantastic place to see honu, or Pacific green sea turtles, swimming in the water or sunning on the rocks. The water in the inlet is highly stratified, with different salinities and opacities at different levels of the pond. The bottom is actually quite deep, and rocky. But because the lower levels of the water are an opaque aquamarine, the pond looks much more shallow than it actually is. Honu will forage deep in the pond, then surface like birds coming up out of the clouds.&#10;&#10;This is almost entirely done with autoKAP using a prototype controller. All of the pictures were taken using a 6&#39; rokkaku kite to lift the camera. The camera was in a Brooks BBKK KAP rig, triggered using a GentLED-CHDK cable and a CHDK script running on the camera.&#10;&#10;Several passes were made up and down the pond with the camera at different altitudes. I stopped several times to make hemispherical panoramas at each location. Because of constraints with generating synths, over 350 images were removed from the set because of solid patches of water, blurriness, specular reflections off of water, etc. Still not 100&#37; synthy, but I don&#39;t think I want to re-visit this one again."<div class="commentBlock font12">

<div class="commentText">Yep&#33; I think I took closer to 1000 pictures, but a bunch of them pointed straight down at water, a couple were blurry, etc. By the time those were all removed, the total had come down to 820.</div>
