Noah was able to create the world&amp;#39;s first synth &amp;#40;we were calling them &amp;#34;photo tours&amp;#34;&amp;#41; from this data.&amp;#13;&amp;#10;&amp;#13;&amp;#10;We later hit upon the idea of using photos from the Web to achieve the same effect.  A few months later, we had the first working &amp;#34;Photo Tourism&amp;#34; system &amp;#40;http&amp;#58;&amp;#47;&amp;#47;research.microsoft.com&amp;#47;IVM&amp;#47;PhotoTours&amp;#47;&amp;#41;, which we presented at SIGGRAPH 2006 and which eventually led to the creation of Photosynth.&amp;#13;&amp;#10;&amp;#13;&amp;#10;See if you can find the panorama taken while walking arond the fountain.  &amp;#40;Click on the little globe to see the overall lay of the square.&amp;#41;  There&amp;#39;s a second 3D group taken from the clock tower &amp;#40;use the &amp;#34;Next 3D Group&amp;#34; button in the URH corner&amp;#41;.&amp;#13;&amp;#10;&amp;#13;&amp;#10;Enjoy&amp;#33;                     Rick"&lt;div class="commentBlock font12"&gt;
