For what it's worth, Ed, I'm glad you went with the full resolution photos on this one. When Photosynth introduces dense reconstruction this synth will shine all the more.

If you know someone who has a computer with obscene amounts of RAM, you should try the original photos in Yasutaka Furukawa's PMVS2 by using Henri Astre's PhotosynthToolkit. If you don't have the originals anymore, you can download original resolution copies of the photos with Henri's PhotosynthTileDownloader.

The Stonework of Richard Rhodes

by David "Richard Rhodes is a stone artist best known for his "Stone Wave" installation in the center of the Tacoma Art Museum. The work shown here is a commision in progress. It is an approach to a building built for the purpose of housing model trains. Check out the railway tie-like approach, and take a look at the stone grate half way up on the right that doubles as a musical instrument: A creek flows below, and the chamber under the grate amplifies the sound. Further up on the left are stone stairs hanging in space. If you look carefully you can even see the artist at work finishing off a few rough spots. Every piece is hand-chiselled."
