by CharlPe "This is a tremendous ruin located high atop Comb Ridge near Bluff, Utah. A friend and I went "archeology" hiking on Comb Ridge in late August, 2009, and this is one of the many reference shoots I was lucky to do. This ruin is a very large living space, and the towers at the front edge of the ruin are amazing. Right in front of the towers is a 100 foot drop down to a large pool of water (which you can see in the synth tour.) Hahaha, even though this is a long gone merch display, the first thing I do is check out which blind boxes they have for sale. It's just like I'm there.

I was just looking through synths in New York City and found this synth geotagged as being there instead of in Nowa Sol where it actually is. I just wanted to mention it, so that you know that it is misplaced.

Other than that, it's a very nice statue. I very much like that you photographed that path coming up to it. It feels more natural that way.

Tua Pek Kong - Temple in Kuching

by BlueHippo "Tua Pek Kong is the oldest Chinese temple in Kuching, just off Main Bazaar. It has a lot of character, and I took these photos on a clear sunny day when it was looking freshly painted. Nice! According to Wikipedia: Tua Pek Kong (大伯公 or Dàbó Gōng) was a man named Zhang Li (张理) from the Hakka clan. His Sumatra-bound boat was struck by wind and accidentally landed on Penang island of Malaysia, which at that time had only 50 inhabitants. After his death, the local people began worshipping him and built the Tua Pek Kong temple there. Today Tua Pek Kong is worshipped by Malaysian Chinese throughout the country. This felt so strangely and wonderfully interactive. Even though I'm not familiar with this location at all, I now have a very clear picture not only of it, but of where things happened and what is important. The highlights really pull you in. It's not just "here is something" but "something is happening here" which has it's own kind of thrill. Thanks for sharing this kind of experience.
