Thanks Nathanael! looking for some free time as well!

Nathanael (Over 1 year ago)
Lost, I'm surprised that I never commented on this inspiring synth. You certainly challenged me to try larger structures and I'm sure you did the same for others. I wonder if the inner and outer walls could be tightened up by adding a short orbit of the left and right sides of each doorway at minimum and possibly the same treatment of the top of the doorway as well. I know that means more photos which is a problem, but I'd love to see it done. Looking forward to your coming synths when you next have some free time.

lostinthetriangle (Over 1 year ago)
Thanks blaise, I struggled to upload the pictures (out of memory errors) since then the software has been updated so I might retry a large upload again. I also wish I had more time this summer for shooting pictures but have been way to busy. Be glad when things slow down here in the triangle!

Very nice. Great coverage. Abu Simbel is the most amazing site in the world (out of 80 or so I have visited). I was there in 2005 (before Photosynth) and even though I took several hundred photos I did not quite get the coverage you did. I did manage to get most all of my photos without people in them, despite the crowds.

Great work I love it if you need the geotag and the information I have them on my synth http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=1ecf0756-494b-4016-9144-466bb103c337&m=false&i=0:0:4&c=-3.68643:-0.429474:0.206817&z=681.252684572247&d=2.48218669585656:-2.34827520480852:-2.56481779662071&p=0:0&t=False I am trying to get all the Abu Simble together from all photo synth creators to create a comprehensive one(each has certain details than others). I don't mind sharing my pictures with you or if you don't mind sharing yours with me would be great we can start a bigger collection with others as well.

For what it's worth, Ed, I'm glad you went with the full resolution photos on this one. When Photosynth introduces dense reconstruction this synth will shine all the more. If you know someone who has a computer with obscene amounts of RAM, you should try the original photos in Yasutaka Furukawa's PMVS2 by using Henri Astre's PhotosynthToolkit. If you don't have the originals anymore, you can download original resolution copies of the photos with Henri's PhotosynthTileDownloader.

I am retired from the US Army, Airborne Ranger, Special Operations and now fufilling another Milestone by completing college at the age of 43 and I LOVE COLLEGE A LOT! Not as much as being in the Army, which I was forced to retire for Medical after 25 years, jumping out out of planes at 30K Feet with 1287 Free For All HALO Jumps and 862 Static Line Jumps. I loved it so much! The Army was my family and still is after joining 2 daze after turning 17 and it was the best decision of my life and then attending 5 months of Hell in Ranger School were the best Decisions I ever made in my life. But now I am in college with a Duel Major and plan on getting a Graduate Degree and PhD good Lord willing. Terry POGA

@Nathaniel Thanks for you comments. We are glad you like our work. As you say it looks simple, but the complexity of our work (if it is one) is not in the way a single picture is taken ... but in the amount of pictures we take and the love we put in every shot in order to connect them and create 100% synths with amazing point clouds. It is just a matter of passion and patience. Have you seen our other Photosynths?

Nathanael (Over 1 year ago)
This is just so well done. I love how simple your method of shooting is and appreciate how patient you must be to pull it off. Happily, I think your technique could be taught to just about anyone. Thank you, as always, for the elegant subjects, clean images, and crisp point cloud.
