FragFrog

As you might have guessed am I a young student in the pitoresque city of Groningen. After having studied astrophysics for a few years I decided it's completely and utterly boring so I worked as a senior developer at a small webdesign company for a while. Next week I will be starting a new study into Artificial Intelligence.

I love new ideas and technologies, both of which photosynth offered. I daresay the program is not "done" yet, but it's very promising and I want to be there when it fulfills that promise!

Wow! I love the historical details, that makes this so much more fun to explore. I especially like that they disassembled the ship and stored it in a logical order.

To be frank, I am somewhat unsatisfied with this synth, at only 61% synthy. Would have been a lot higher with a couple'a hundred more shots I imagine - which would have taken years with my slow digimax A7. Next time I buy a camera, speed will definately be one of my concerns!

I see - I read in a comment a while ago that people were having trouble with large synths, and this one took ages to render and upload, hency my caution. Nothing for it but to go back and take a lot more pictures I suppose! ;)

Hey - Its a good effect you have. and its interesting to challenge the program aswell. really push it to the limits. I would suggest having her in a complex position - Perhaps a martial arts stance- on a very rough and textured ground. And if you have a DSLR i recommend putting it on Continuous shooting mode and rotating yourself around her. If you look at my 2nd Synth - my brothers 3D map (push CTRL) is really detailed. So it shows you, the more detail you put in - the more you get out.

Electronics and hardware hacking seem like great uses of Photosynth! (Especially the multires Seadragon aspect, to get at the details of chip model numbers etc.) I'd love to see more like this..
