GaryMortimer

UAS operator and balloon driver!

I am using a small electric flying wing with the camera buried in the body and clicking away quite happily.

The airplane is controlled by an Attopilot autopilot.

I think if you after a denser point cloud you need more images, I would be tempted to put the camera on a pole as well to get some semi aerial views into the mix, that might get the texture padded out on the banks a little. Its amazing what a difference 5m of tubing makes, a good number of cameras will take continuous shots if you just tape down the shutter. Just make sure the first shot meters the scene well.

What a pity you did'nt get the beach in, when I get home I will try and correct that!! For those that don't know the Indian Ocean was just to the east of this position.

Congratulations Durban2010! Very nicely done. Maybe add a geotag so we can all find the location on the map?

If you had panned up with a couple of shots it would have orientated the point cloud correctly, that said the Turvey Church image is the only one I have taken that really works. G
