That is insane! It's the biggest photosynth I've found!

Martin_Kulhavy (Over 1 year ago)
The unlayered PSB file is 10.2GB large.

Lieutenant (Over 1 year ago)
This photo you spliced into the PSB document how much capacity?

Martin_Kulhavy (Over 1 year ago)
Sorry, I don't understand. How much of what?

Lieutenant (Over 1 year ago)

Absolutely awesome. I wonder where the limit is on how large these panoramas can get.

Hello world, I am new at this page, who can show me some interessting pics about genetic themes, or some like this.

Martin_Kulhavy (Over 1 year ago)
There is relation between the resolution (in GPix) and the size (in GB), but the size also depends on other things, like compression, whether the file is saved layered on unlayered, ...You can easily estimate the resolution of the panorama by: (number of photos) x (one photo resolution) x 0.7 (overlap).

In PTGui, tab: "Image parameters" you can enter yaw, pitch and roll manually. For this panorama for parameters were: image no-yaw-pitch 0-0-90 1-0-60 2-30-60 3-60-60 4-90-60 ... 12-330-60 13-0-30 14-20-30 ... 30-340-30 31-0-0 I knew the coordinates, because I programmed the head to take to photos at these coordinates.

Lieutenant (Over 1 year ago)
I did not understand what you say, how in PTGUI manual input parameters, say 4 "sky" photo, there is no reference to already know the pitch angle of the photo, and the left and right angles, how to splice? This problem has not been resolved, as long as there is no reference in the "sky" photo, these "sky" can not be spliced.

Martin_Kulhavy (Over 1 year ago)
I entered the parameters (yaw, pitch, roll) in PTGUI manually. For ground shots I use Manfrotto 303SPH with 5 degree steps, so I know that the intervals in yaw must be 5 degrees. This example is taken from the mast with Orion robotised head. I set up the coordinates for the robotised sequence on PC (1 overhead shot, 12 shots at 60 degree latitude, 18 shots at 30 degree latitude) so again I know exactly the parameters for PTGUI. The is some small inaccuracy, but this is not a problem on the sky since there are no objects there.

Lieutenant (Over 1 year ago)
Hi,Martin,Beautiful sky, how you do it, is directly spliced with PTGUI, or PHOTOSHOP patch?I've tried, this did not reference the "sky" like stitching up.

Sorry, can help you here, I have never created that large PSB file. My biggest file is 12GB and there were no problems. I suppose that you have 64 bit Windows.

Lieutenant (Over 1 year ago)
Hi,Martin,I have a 30.2G PSB files, can not be used in photoshop cs5 plugin upload to Photosynth website, and you know why?

MagiView (Over 1 year ago)
I use ICE for stitching: it's fast, easy to use, allows shooting with auto exposure and white balance - I find it just GREAT!

Lieutenant (Over 1 year ago)
Hi,Martin,I PSB save the use PTGUI, files modified PHOTOSHOP CS5 Save for PSB file, the file size small lot, a 22.6GB file, modify the dump only 7.69GB, do not know why,There is no way to fix it? Now what stitching software is relatively easy to use, strong function?

Martin_Kulhavy (Over 1 year ago)
There is only a little you can do with clarity, the weather is the key. If the visibility is poor that I don't the panorama. Sometimes I wait for months, to get good conditions (England is not the best for this). There should be only small stitching error when using tripod and long focal length. It is useful to check the control points in Ptgui manually. I usually take couple hundreds of photos, with 20Mpix per photo the result is easily over 2 GPix. Do don't refocus. I focus at start on hyperfocal length, check the focus for infinity and then I switch to manual focus so the camera doesn't refocus.

Once again, Martin, you've published one of the TOP panos of this website! I have "favorited" it...

Martin_Kulhavy (Over 1 year ago)
I used PtGui, which was quite useful here due to the masking abilities. There was quite lot of work in Photoshop to fit all the planes, the background was quite different. I know that the result is not perfect, but this photo didn't require perfect result. Usually my panoramas aren't 360 because there are not many places with interesting 360 degree views. I prefer to take interesting 180 in higher resolution rather than "boring" 360.

Lieutenant (Over 1 year ago)
What tools do you use to splicing, recommended a number of useful tools to me, thank! Why I stitching photos are not up to your work definition? And why do you work now is not 360 degrees?

Lieutenant (Over 1 year ago)
Martin, your work is too beautiful! I would like to ask how people scene splicing, the location of each person in the photo may not.
