Pierrot21

I like to travel, usualy by bicycle, and make pictures. But now in winter, I prefer to show you some of the most beautiful private yards in Dijon (Burgundy - France)-------------------------------- J'aime voyager (surtout à vélo) et prendre des photos. Mais pour le moment en hiver, je préfère vous montrer les plus belles cours de Dijon (Bourgogne)- ------------------------------------ Panasonic FZ18 / FZ38 buisson.p21@gmail.com

Hi. Would you please mind removing the 2nd paragraph of the description. It is copyrighted content from the Bermuda4u website.

Thankyou EdLee, must be a combination of things, I shoot the pictures in different resolutions (multishot mode drops the resolution) highest being 3648 x 2056. Photosynth then resizes the pictures. Your Court House project is amazing as well!

EdLee (Over 1 year ago)
Very nice. I was able to synth 1,395 photos @100% in 4 hours 10 minutes with lesser hardware: Dell Inspiron 1525, Intel Core 2 Duo T5800, 2GHz, 3G RAM, 32-bit Vista. What were the resolutions of your photos? Mine were VGA 640x480. See my on-going project of the Santa Barbara County Courthouse.

arnielarson (Over 1 year ago)
I didn't think it was possible to synth this many photos. This is really cool!

Fred_Oxford (Over 1 year ago)
I have to say this is a very exciting synth - I have spent around 20 minutes "walking" through the church and still have not seen all the corners and details. It is really incredible what Photosynth has done with this.

Burkhard, this is my favorite synth in whole Photosynth. thank you for the joy! PAF, Moscow, Russia

Pierrot21 (Over 1 year ago)
I guessed that was the real story; quite clever! I dreamed a longer story: after looking at this picture on your wall for months or years, you decided to fly from Germany to Sidney, just to try a synth ... ;-)

Burkhard (Over 1 year ago)
The picture on the wall I did myself, it is a stitch made out of three single pictures. I used this stiched picture and all three single pictures as source pictures for the synth.

Pierrot21 (Over 1 year ago)
Great! I'm a beginner; I just made my first try yesterday: search with tag 'magicart' question: is the picture on the wall a panoramic view (a stitch) you made with the pictures of the synth, or did you buy the view of the bridge, and then did you take pics to make a synth which could fit?

Hi Gasper, Thanks. Let me rephrase the question. Your name "S Gasper D'Souza" appears at the lower left corner of each photo -- how did you put your name "S Gasper D'Souza" there in each photo? Simply selecting "Creative Commons Attribution" does not make name appear in each photo.

gasperd (Over 1 year ago)
Pierrot, not sure what you mean by GPS waypoints! and EdLee, you've got a fantastic synth! It's amazing and 100%! As for your query on the name, that's simple. When creating the synth, simply select the option for Creative Commons Attribution required. So that way, anyone could use the synth with attribution to your name. cheers

EdLee (Over 1 year ago)
Gasper, nice on first try! May I ask how you got your name to appear at the lower left corner of each image? :) I also have a lot of fun shooting the exterior and interior of a building, especially following a staircase. See the point cloud of this courthouse synth: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=c8063fc8-145b-4b42-936f-58ca7724b26d

Just noticed sumthin interestin. Original pic orientation doesn't matter for the synth, but does in Grid View. I've noticed that Photosynth does not respect the meta data for image orientation, so I have been rotating mine in Windows Explorer. Will continue to do so, since Grid View has its place, too. Well, anyhow, just thought I'd point this out, in case others were unaware, as I was till just a moment ago. OK, synth on:)...

Very cool, I love the point cloud.

Fred_Oxford (Over 1 year ago)
the halos/doughnuts/toroids come up nicely - great point cloud

Hastarin (Over 1 year ago)
I'm currently synthing a version with only 61 photos that were the wider angle shots. Thankfully since it decided only 2 of the photos were new it was relatively quick to do. Now I know it can reuse photos without uploading them I may experiment more. You can see the simpler version here: http://tinyurl.com/ahwrj3 That said you should be able to play with the point cloud on this. There are several toroidal rings to manipulate at various points, mainly at the corners, and you can always use a combination of the mouse and w/a/s/d to view it. Though I admit it's not as simple as the one main ring on the simpler version.

Hi happy cathedrals' synthers! So I synthed my simple cathedral, pretty little from Dijon (Burgundy) http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=7a5ef951-d15b-4d83-839c-5013b01e4726 ; I hope you like it. As you can see it was on a very sunny day, and I feared about shadows ot overlighted places, but Photosynth is quite good for stitching. I could take pictures on avery 4 sides by stepping into private gardens or yards; so one side was in the shadow and colours are not so warm, but it doesn't matter so much. I agree there are no statues here, or sun would have been a problem; I agree with EdLee you better use a good stalbilizer (all cameras have one now) or a tripod and try to take your breath; and don't focus too much about the point cloud ;-)))

Fred_Oxford (Over 1 year ago)
I agree, too much light is also a problem...sorry no chance of getting into the buildings around the cathedral...I would have to go back to Cologne, and try to bribe my way into a few office buildings and hotels!

Please have a look on my 'Citygirl-highres' ( a statue in the middle of a square ) and my 'Mamdijon' many synth for a mamorial with 3 different statues, and I am trying to build the complete one, easily binding them and showing the whole place (it doesn't work good enough now) Tag 'citygirl' and 'mamdijon' in th "search synths"

Schn828 (Over 1 year ago)
Ok, now I understand. This is the prototype to all the future synths that I will eventually create.

Pierrot21 (Over 1 year ago)
No! I wrote the contrary: main hall and Caroll hall are not so interesting because they are flat and the clouds don't show anything more than a picture; the cloud for the chapel (and in your new James Joyce statue) really brings something more in a 3D view.

dariusmonsef (Over 1 year ago)
Impressive.

Schn828 (Over 1 year ago)
What I am aiming for is to make my synths as detailed in the point cloud view as possible. In order to do that I have to take a bunch of pictures. I agree that the front of the chapel could have been done with 10, but that is not the point of my synths.

To make a synth you must change the angle of view: walking around, up and down

Schn828 (Over 1 year ago)
This is a good first attempt. But here are some tips: Photosynth has a hard time with black shiny objects, so the rifle lamp, though cool, might not be the best subject. Try something more colorful. Make sure you have good lighting. Just a couple more pictures from different angles on this one and it will all synth together. Hope this helps.
