I wonder if the inner and outer walls could be tightened up by adding a short orbit of the left and right sides of each doorway at minimum and possibly the same treatment of the top of the doorway as well. I know that means more photos which is a problem, but I'd love to see it done. I think it might give her a weekend trip idea for a start! This is just fantastic, Matt - are you a pro, or just a skilled/lucky amateur? A brilliant subject, very well chosen, and expertly mapped with your camera. Everyone, don't forget to zoom in to catch all the brilliant little details you might otherwise miss (and might even have done so if you were there in person!). The pics seem to be either 2 or 3mpx, so there's scope for reasonable enlargement even at fullscreen on a typical monitor. Then zoom out in other places, fullscreen, for excellent peripheral-vision effects. I've just lost about an hour of my life to this :-) but hey, the plane journey would have been 3x longer. I'm not sure whether the lights are LEDs or conventional bulbs like large Christmas lights. I like to check out a lot of other synther's work, and occasionally I'll check out their favorites. I usually leave with new favorites I otherwise would not have found. The favorites I collect are either just plain beautiful and/or inspiring. For example, a beautiful colorful and interesting face synth by dariusmonsef "Head of Greg" http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=737b791a-0765-46b2-bd5e-e12afc54bfea . With his synth, you get a feeling of Greg's personality. I think it's the eyes and the beard. Each of my favorites show a hint of what is possible. Globe 2.0 Rick (Over 1 year ago) Yes, nicely done! Mike11 (Over 1 year ago) Thanks for the comment! The globe is sitting on a lazy susan to that I could easily spin it around. This is actually on a small table covered in a plain black t-shirt. Behind the globe I put 2 chairs with their backs facing the globe and hung a big black (actually really dark blue) towel between them. I have 3 bright desk lamps shining from different angles onto the globe. Since the globe was illumiated so brightly I could use a fast exposure which eliminated anything that is dim, like the black background. In the original high-res pictures you can still kind of see these background objects, but before uploading I used Picasa to make all the pictures smaller and slighty decrease the image quality (for smaller files for uploading). For my first try I didn't have any of the black background and the rest of the room showed up, so I came up with this to eliminate that. AdamSynth (Over 1 year ago) Awesome!
