See if you can find the path behind the waterfall!

Nice. How come we can't see the waterfall clearly?

Very cool syth. It's one of the best I've seen. How did you manage to have no one in the room but the guards?

Scott (Over 1 year ago)
CMOS, that's the Declaration of Independance.. I just didn't get enough shots to connect it with the rest of the synth, unfortunately.

What is the box next to the column on the left side?

Excellent

Hi rwmcnab.. Super wide angles are the culprit! I guess there are advantages and disadvantages to shooting ultra-wide. I took the initial panorama at 17mm on a full-frame camera, so if you zoomed out to look at the point cloud, the scene would look really distorted. The advantage is that the scene is very immersive when you're zoomed in. It was fun to capture this synth, but very difficult due to the low ambient light. I had to use a tripod and take very long exposures for each shot.

I realized all this time that I hadn't geotagged this. Oops!

Rick (Over 1 year ago)
I just became aware of Sam Hamill's poetry when I was at Fort Worden (Port Townsend), where Sam has collaborated on an outdoor sculpture installation called Memory's Vault I'm planning to synth. My wife also saw the installation and bought Hamill's anthology (Almost Paradise...) at a Port Townsend bookstore, which I'm hoping to browse next week.

My wife and I saw this exhibition while it was up in the Davidson Gallery. It's really remarkable, and very different from anything else on the contemporary art scene in Seattle. I'm very glad we were able to help the artists and Sam Davidson make this record.

I believe Andrew was using the big Canon digital - EOS-1ds Mark 2. Lots and lots of megapixels.

Wow what camera did you use?? I zoomed in to the steps to see the intricate carving on the stone on the stairs and saw every detail extremely close. I'm impressed.

very cool....having seen temple of heaven in real the details and speed when zooming are amazing

Yes, it's remarkable how few people were in this shot. This is a very dense commercial area - I didn't see much evidence of residential living.

Nice panorama. What is amazing is just how quiet the station is!

Well, she's certainly comfortable in front of a camera.. She's already had more pictures taken of her than I've had taken of me.

Skullheadface (Over 1 year ago)
Great baby synth ! And she does seem more interested in the camera. Maybe a future photographer!

Thanks! This was meant to be an exploration of using Photosynth for simple photo sharing. The fact that a few of my photos synthed together was actually a little annoying, since the chronological flow was interrupted. These photos were taken during a fall trip to Tokyo, Kobe, and Takayama. I was using a Canon 5D with 50mm f/1.8, 17-40 and 70-200 F/4 lenses. Cheers, -S

Very cool and interesting. Since I am a "stay at home dad", this is a great way to travel and see the world from my computer. Alot of these pictures had great detail. Being into photography myself, I'm curious as to what camera you have.
