Best wishes! I have a good suggestion, Can we choice the style of auto sildeshow play, just like 'from top to the bottom',or 'from east to west',and let the view of screen more smoothly. Maybe there need some technic of buffer。 Can you hear my voice, the great programmers! thank you!~ yours ,wei

jimcseke (Over 1 year ago)
Nice! But not the quick and short way of saying "nice". You know ... the word "nice" is stretched out, like "nnn...iiiiiice". Anyway, had to comment on and favorite this for 2 reasons: One reason is, my second son is coming down for the holidays and I want to try to get him to pick up this wonderful (for lack of a better word) "hobby". My favorites collection is a quick way to show him what Photosynth is all about, and some of yours will be shown along with other great synths to acheive that goal. The other reason is to wish you and yours, and to the rest of the wonderfully creative folks you work with Happy and Safe Holidays!!!

Unusual! The castle seems to be like one enormous tattoo! Fortunately, it can all be painted over, if the Glasgows ever decide they want to get back to basics. It's certainly a talking-point, and I really hope it works for them! Excellent use of Photosynth, by the way! AR

Xajuan (Over 1 year ago)
i like this i think its a little choosy when it comes to matching tiles you have to take thousands of pics to satisfy the 3d effect

Scott (Over 1 year ago)
Adam must have used some serious megapixels - the detail when zooming in is great. Too bad the back of the castle isn't as artsy as the front!

adamboardman (Over 1 year ago)
I've added to the description, hope that helps. Its a pity there is no manual way of saying this photo fits next to this other one. Its also odd that some photos though they do stitch in can never be got back to once you've left them.

Thanks Nathanael. That approach you mentioned might prove interesting. I have a couple of (very) large synths in the making, still trying to optimize them.

Nathanael (Over 1 year ago)
Oh, also, I meant to say that the reason that resolution shouldn't matter is that all synthing uses only a 1.5 version of each photo to do the matching. I wholeheartedly endorse the uploading of the full resolution photos, though, both for viewing as well as being able to see more dense pointclouds generated from the full resolution photos in the future.

Nathanael (Over 1 year ago)
I know I'm commenting on ancient history but for what it's worth, the limits of the synther are not defined by a hard number of photos or the size (either resolution or megabytes) of the photos, but rather the number of image features in each image and how many of the images correspond to one location. The limit, in my experience, is defined solely by a maximum number of image features and how many of them correspond to each another. The more intensive any one part of the synth, the more strenuous the scene reconstruction becomes as the number of photos increase past the hundreds. One method I have found to sidestep this choking point, if you have more than enough coverage, is to thin out the images for any given version of the synth by only using odd or even numbered images. The other obvious alternative is to simply break the scene into discrete objects and have some good overlap among your synths of the place (i.e. the end of one overlaps the start of the next).

jpamado (Over 1 year ago)
Thanks for all your comments. I've been using the synther on different computers, starting with 2 GB, going through 4 and 6 GB, until the current machine with 20 GB. Memory does matter, although the Photosynth process runs in 32-bit space. Synths that stopped with 4 GB were finished with 6 GB. When 6 GB weren't enough, I started using 20 GB. Even so, before trying this last synth, I ran another one with close to 1050 photos and it bombed with a network error. So, things still work by trial and error up to a certain point.

Hi - just found this after I d/l Photosynth & am exploring - really impressed with the quad-lift helicopter - as we know choppers of all types are basically unstable & want to crash, so your design & manipulation of controls must be ace! What does it all weigh (how much of that is battery?) & what is its endurance? - pic of yourself & reflected chopper in window is v.good. Congratulations - Merger

swami_worldtraveler (Over 1 year ago)
Fry3199, GREAT JOB! Love the way u think:) Interestin helicopter. Ur design/construction? Cam rig, too? Tnx for includin pix of the camera rig. Would love to hear details on how electronic shutter triggering is done I kno sum cam models allow computer control (for time-lapse, etc.), so perhaps there's a interface adapter. FYI, my academic backgroud is data acq n control / robotics. Didn't c vid monitor, so guessin u servo the cam angle blind. LOVE, LOVE the shot of u where copter can b seen in window reflection. Awesome:) Cyclin thru shots was interestin for me, but imagine it was even more so for u, since u live in that area. I c this is ur only posted synth, n from over a month ago.
