You must've been exhausted having climbing these stairs at that speed. ;-) Very funny to watch.

Wow. Seemed like more than 186 photos. I'm exhausted just watching it :-)

This is fun... and slightly tiring. =)

Yes, you are correct. I found that for walk style synths in general that manual focus is often helpful since the camera can otherwise be busy seeking on the rapidly changing scene depth when I actually want the shutter to fire. This was especially true in tight twisty quarters like these. Manual focus gives me better control over the shutter while ensuring a more predictable focal point. The shallow focus here (as you say around 3 ft) was a choice based on the narrow passage ways inside the ship that I was trying to capture.

Thank you.

Great capture! Looks like you were using manual focus, am I right. Seems like things 3 ft away or less are in focus but not the rest? Was this deliberate?

Yes my experiments are supporting your suggestion that (a common) smooth trajectory or enough commonality that one can be inferred, seems to be important.

This would make a very nice Photosynth 1. The Photosynth 2 (tech-preview) looks best when the camera is moved on a smooth trajectory.

I get dizzy playing this one :-) Check out the map ("m" key) to see why.

Thanks for the feedback David. Your comments triggered an idea and I tried some manual intervention. The alternative version of this synth includes all of the same images along with a few stitched versions of the flat walls which the creator app seemed to be having some difficulty with. I like the wall experience better now and that is the main focus of the exhibit, however the results were 1% less synthy for some reason. Also a bunch of other images seemed to have become disconnected for some reason.

Very nice. You'll get an even better expeience and smoother connectivity if you shoot landscape, rather than portrait. Landscape allows you to easily overlap the photos more, which always helps Photosynth.
