that is great. I think the seadragon version and this mosaic are different media and combine very well. the mosaic feels like a dream.

With the new Photoshop plugin to publish panoramas directly to photosynth.net, it sounds as though you can perfect the stitch with AutopanoPro, open it in Photoshop, and beam it up to the site here. Aye, I'm familiar with Seadragon.com's fullscreen switch. =] AutoPano seems to have produced a wonderfully clean stitch, but I'm a little sad that such a great capture can't be experienced with perspective correct rendering - with the image wrapping around the viewer.

Just flipping through synths and found this gem. Apart from photos of trees, streams, ponds and static objects, this is a type of synth I have been planning to do. You hit the nail on the head by giving the sense of depth and movement over the terrain. The pointcloud turned out beautiful. I'm also hoping to do a cliff shoot where the feeling of "danger near the edge" is conveyed in the synth. Where your stomach jumps a little. I know this is not impossible, having seen single photos giving the desired effect. One historical photo comes to mind. A single photograph of the empire state building, where about 10 workers are sitting on an I-beam casually eatting lunch, very high above the ground below. Imagine a synth made from that moment. Anyway, nice job. P.S. Love this site, one of the best on the web.
