You should set this so that the point cloud shows first

eah, the game is called Go (in English), which is shortened from the Japanese name Igo(囲碁), which is borrowed from the Chinese name Wei-qi(圍棋 or 围棋). :)

wow, i hope to understand the software as well, half as well would satisfy me at this point - the game is a chinese game said to be the most difficult (name escapes me)

Yes, a nice combination of techniques, and interesting commentary on different levels.

Wahnsinn................................. Wie gut, dass die Brücke gehalten hat. Ich wäre nicht drüber gegangen. Das gruselt ja schon beim Hinsehen ! www.marynett.de

The rope was more for psychological protection. If one of us fell in the river there wasn't much of a chance against that current.....

I think Tony added this to his list of places to go.

Thanks Douglas and thanks for your email too. I'm going to read the paper you sent me. Cheers, David.

Hey David. You bet. I;ve added some highlights to try and help make sense of what you are seeing. This is "archaeologists archaeology," digging not so much for artifacts but incredibly subtle changes in soil color and texture. A good overview of this project was written up by the Los Angeles Times, see http://www.cdarc.org/page/kpd0. (But ignore the embarrassing sour grapes at the end, we are going to be able to say a great deal about these people once excavation and analysis is completed). A local story gives more info at http://www.cdarc.org/page/5339. Finally, highlights from our own publication are available here: http://www.cdarc.org/page/5339, and a Native American perspective on this research is available as well at http://www.cdarc.org/pdf/09-01_enote.pdf. Cheers, and thanks for giving us such a cool tool!

Doug -- could you please give us a link to the best general introduction to this research, and add a few highlights showing those canal cross sections? Very interested in understanding what you're learning with this dig. Thank you!

did they ever set this on fire it apears to have been made to set on fire, no?

David-Photosynth-Team (Over 1 year ago)
I know that it's too late for suggestions now, but my advice about this one is that if you had just stepped back as to include the whole sculpture as well as taking these great details, you would have gotten a much better result out of Photosynth. Great idea, and great subject though!
