The Great Pyramid of Giza is in a building complex that also is accompanied by two mortuary temples of Khufu (one near the pyramid and other near the Nile), three smaller pyramids of his wives, a bridge linking two temples, and small mastaba tombs of nobles. http://www.historicaltravelguide.com/the-great-pyramid-of-giza.html

For what it's worth, Ed, I'm glad you went with the full resolution photos on this one. When Photosynth introduces dense reconstruction this synth will shine all the more. If you know someone who has a computer with obscene amounts of RAM, you should try the original photos in Yasutaka Furukawa's PMVS2 by using Henri Astre's PhotosynthToolkit. If you don't have the originals anymore, you can download original resolution copies of the photos with Henri's PhotosynthTileDownloader.

A work of art. I don't know art, but I know what I like. Syths like this (and there are many others) push the possibility boundries further each time. And they inspire others like myself. Thank you.

Charlie -- now that you can modify the starting image and add highlights, you could make this a lot easier to "get in to". How about it?

Nice. Photosynth breaks the skybox illusion a little :-). Hit 'p' to show the point cloud and then hold down 'e' to see how high the textured sky plane is.

Here is a link to a KML file for google earth with the flight path. http://johnsoncs.com/flight.kml FAR101 Governs unmanned balloons. So long as your payload is pretty small (under 4lbs) the rules are pretty easy to follow.

SUPER! U were a foto snappin fool, weren't u!?:) I SPACEBAR/Shitf+SPACEBARed my way thru all 691 fotos! V interesin xperience. Especially cool to go into pure pcloud mode while rapidly pressin SPACEBAR. Did u have a practical end for this clearly significant effort? Or were u just intrigued? Not sure what the record foto count is, but this one's gotta b up there. Musta had an over the top computer sys to pump this out (64-bit OS, n LOTS of RAM?). Tnx for sharin the results of all ur hard effort.

Hi Houdan and Madeeds! I don't know if it is the same bug in this one? http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=ED3300E2-1F66-42EE-9420-5F25C1A775A4 The point cloud is not bad (or even good) but viewing the pictures is strange with double statue !?!

Pierrot21 (Over 1 year ago)
Hi Houdan and Madeeds! I first thought it was like a spam trying to drive me to a commercial web-site and was quite angry! I'm very sad seing my little dragon lost in the flames of hell on your picture ;-) I'm very happy to read that 1) you both are in the Photosynth team 2) you read our posts, 3) you have a look on our synths (normal in a beta-version) 4) you will upgrade the synther 5) you make sort of an announcement ;-) I have been driving projects, writing and testing programs (business not art, or graphics) and it has been a hobby for one month to explore capabilities / limits of photosynth; sorry I'm not in the team, I have a lot of ideas and observations. It would be more easy to send direct emails ... About the reddragon: it's a very very big bug in reddragon-1 by clicking in the middle, it will show something that does't exist (head down). I was glad to see reddragon-3 is quite good as there is no more scale in the pictures. Have a nice week-end!

houdan (Over 1 year ago)
Pierrot21, sorry I forgot to do a self-introduction. I am a engineering in the Photosynth team working on the synther. It looks like the link I posted in the last comment is not a valid link. Thanks to madeeds' reminder (who is a test engineer in our team), I got the right link of that photos here: http://i43.tinypic.com/ngwwnn.jpg, which shows after new reconstruction, all cameras go all the way around. You will be able to resynth this collection and get better result next time when we upgrade the synther. :-)

madeeds (Over 1 year ago)
'houdan' is one of the engineers here on the Photosynth team who wrote a large percentage of the code that constructs a photosynth. He's working on the next, better, version of the synther. We tried using his new code on your imagery, and it looks like a big improvement. Unfortunately, the "tinypic" link he sent doesn't show the image he wanted to show you. I'll work with houdan to get you the right picture.

Nice, I was standing right in front of the Comet when this bus rolled by. I was thinking the people standing on top of Neumo's had a good view -- now I can see it!

stlombo (Over 1 year ago)
These pix are in front of the comet tavern. I think this is where the party started, before it moved one block down to Broadway and pike where it grew out of control :-) i've never seen anything quite like it actually - the cops blocked off the roads leading to the intersection which allowed the party to grow and grow. people were drinking in the streets. partying. popping champagne. incredible to see such a collective smile and sigh of relief.
