Thanks Nathanael! looking for some free time as well!

Nathanael (Over 1 year ago)
Lost, I'm surprised that I never commented on this inspiring synth. You certainly challenged me to try larger structures and I'm sure you did the same for others. I wonder if the inner and outer walls could be tightened up by adding a short orbit of the left and right sides of each doorway at minimum and possibly the same treatment of the top of the doorway as well. I know that means more photos which is a problem, but I'd love to see it done. Looking forward to your coming synths when you next have some free time.

lostinthetriangle (Over 1 year ago)
Thanks blaise, I struggled to upload the pictures (out of memory errors) since then the software has been updated so I might retry a large upload again. I also wish I had more time this summer for shooting pictures but have been way to busy. Be glad when things slow down here in the triangle!

Nice view. When was this taken? I thought the public was not allowed to climb the "pyramid" any more. At least not when I was there!

The same scene on a sunny day: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=38ac2c4d-66d4-4c9f-8658-7fe914ab1a01 I by chance chose the same spot to do a 360 panorama.

yeah - it was raining last time I was there, too.

@siblog, yes, i did it manually. It is for sure the cause of the missing blocks. @David, thanks. I think you have been to Cairo then, to know the air quality issue.

David-Photosynth-Team (Over 1 year ago)
Given the tough air quality, you have done an amazing job with these images. Well done!

siblog (Over 1 year ago)
Very nice - Did you take this manualy, (I'm wondering about the missing blocks lower left.

Yeah, I need to start going back through my synths to add highlights. 'Cause you mentioned it, I'll start with this one.

queuester (Over 1 year ago)
Great synth. Highlights would be great on this for navigation.

madeeds (Over 1 year ago)
Wow! If you could supplement this with some photos from the ground, I bet the truck would have had some really amazing detail. I love the location.

siblog (Over 1 year ago)
Very nice indeed, I used to do areal photography from kits some 25 years ago. When I look at this synth and what is possible now, my efforts back then look rather tatty. Well done!

Marvin (Over 1 year ago)
Wow. This is amazing. I love this set.

David-Photosynth-Team (Over 1 year ago)
Hey void23 -- if you add a "highlight" to the bottom of the dig, you can get Photosynth to do all the work of pulling people from the outside to the bottom. Should only take 1 minute!

K (Over 1 year ago)
i can't believe you connected the outside with the cave. well done!

madeeds, the tunnel's slope may not be accurate because photosynth does not have enough infomation. For example: http://photosynth.net/view.aspx?cid=c8063fc8-145b-4b42-936f-58ca7724b26d If you rotate the Courthouse so you are looking down at the staircase and the 2nd floor hallway from the top, you'll see they don't align with the outer walls of the building and the tunnel. I don't have the building's blueprint, but I am guessing in reality, the staircase and the hallway align perfectly with the building walls. The reason they don't in the Point Cloud is that the synther does not have enough information, same as with the tunnel here. So for example, if there is one photo that simultaneously captures a Courthouse exterior wall AND the interior staircase; or, for this synth, one photo that simultaneously captures the Adam Stephen House's roof AND the bottom of the tunnel, then the tunnel's slope may be more accurate.

madeeds (Over 1 year ago)
Fascinating story! I wonder why the synther thinks the tunnel slopes down steeper than it seems to in the pictures.

to Scarysek: No, nebylo to lehký, zvlášt když sem to fotil mobilem. Než ten uložil 213 fotek, to byla makačka. Ale jak sama řekla, prý si u toho odpočině, proto taky ležela. Bohužel jakmile vstala, byla totálně zdřevěnělá :D

ravydavy (Over 1 year ago)
sorry scarysek, don't know what you're saying... I think it's a good synth. the girl is nice too. sexy.....

Scarysek (Over 1 year ago)
Hezká :) ale nechápu jak dokáže vydržet ve stejné pozici 213 fotek :)

nice view from above and from down under. you ever thought of taking a ladder with you to get the top as detailed as the bottom :-) ?

Very nice synth, well done.

When you see a halo/donut if you hold the ctrl key down you can temporarily hide the photos, then grab the halo and spin it freely. It's fun! Trees are so synthy it's crazy. I really doing the halo trick above and looking up through the bottom of the tree.

Exactly! Absolutely Wonderful use of photosynth.

lostinthetriangle (Over 1 year ago)
"These will never synth" was my first thought when I looked at this. Then I started to look at the pictures and read some of the stories...........very touching, and sad.......... Then it occurred to me, photosynth is a good program for viewing, and reading documents as well. The ability to zoom in and move around single flat pictures with no point cloud. Oh wow, I thought the point cloud was everything............not always it seems!
