Description

Opened in 1907 the Waitakere Dam Tramway was used to facilitate the building and maintenance of the Dam. Water from the dam is gravity fed to Auckland.
In this view from the Upper Terminus the Tram can be seen waiting for the return trip.
The Tramway is still used for inspection and maintenance and has become a popular tourist attraction.
