PhotoSynth lost all (over 10) halos.
They are back in newer versions of this synth. :)

You have done an amazing job on this. Just out of curiosity, how long did it take to synth this? Do you ever run into the "not enough memory" problem? Keep it up.

Wow - nice job, this might have the prize for largest synth, I haven't seen one with this many photos before.

Douglas, Schn828, thank you. Yes, Photosynth already ran out of memory at 1,671 photos, and it crashed (Error message) at 1,489 photos, so I had to remove many photos (e.g. the Corner arch, the detailed Sculpture + the pond, etc.) to make room for more interior photos. Synthing 1,395 photos took 4 hours 10 minutes, so I assume this one took at least that long (I started the synth and went to sleep :) In the morning, if it synthed, I got a present. :) If I had infinite computational power and storage, I could easily go over 10,000 photos with this building. :)

Fantastic! I see what you mean about the tricky navigation to get to the elevator...you have to turn around and back up the final flight of stairs.

We're working on some improvements to the reconstruction phase right now to lower the memory and time requirements. I'll certainly be testing it out on some of these data sets.

Drew, thanks! Let me know if you can "restore" the halos to this synth? :)

About the lack halos, I just looked through the camera position data, and indeed, there seem to be no halos in the entire collection. I'm not sure why this would happen, so we'll need to look closer at the dataset.

Thanks, Marvin. Which key to press for that link? The key is missing from your comment. :) Also, what (transition) am I looking for in that "starting" photo?
Marvin Over 1 year ago
Hurm....
I wrote "enter", but must have put html tags around it -- which caused it to vanish from the message.

Basically:
1. Click on the link.
2. Press 'p' to turn off the image.
3. Press enter.
