See the Point Cloud for the trick. :)

This idea hit me a while ago.

You can clone as much as you want, limited only by hardware... and the graciousness of the model :)

The board shows my favorite pro game, played by Fujisawa Shuko (藤澤秀行, White) and Nie Wei Ping (聶衛平, Black) on Nov 20, 1988.

It's a beautiful game because Nie sacrificed his 5 stones in the center for the huge lower right framework -- the level required for this superb judgement is amazing.

Fujisawa: June 14,1925 - May 8,2009.

Excellently done illusion using ground texture and shared object to create a connected point cloud that didn't exist in reality. Best Photosynth idea I've seen yet!

cool! i added as a fave. does this game have any special significance?

I forgot to ask, would you mind adding a description and some tags so this is easier to find?
EdLee Over 1 year ago
Ken, Thank you for dropping by! Do you have any suggestions for a description? I didn't realize the description is involved in searches?! The game is my favorite pro game. Extra bonus brownie points for anyone who can identify the game without using a Go game database... but that's so very obscure! :)
K Over 1 year ago
Actually you're right, the description doesn't get indexed for search. I just wanted to find out more about the game (I'm not strong enough to memorize pro games!) and your idea behind this synth.

Tags will help both for search and for related synths. If this was taken in a public place a geotag will cause it to show up on the map explore page.

Why can't I see the Point Cloud? Is it taking too long to load or is there a problem? O press "p" and it shows nothing! Just black...
dariusmonsef Over 1 year ago
Oooh. That's tricky!
K Over 1 year ago
daddilellisd the point cloud is very large (1mb or more) but it should start loading immediately. try pressing the P key multiple times, it toggles between images + points, points only and images only.

Brilliant concept and well executed. 'grab' the donut, and you can look at the point cloud from any direction, even underneath....

Yes, a nice combination of techniques, and interesting commentary on different levels.

wow, i hope to understand the software as well, half as well would satisfy me at this point - the game is a chinese game said to be the most difficult (name escapes me)
EdLee Over 1 year ago
eah, the game is called Go (in English), which is shortened from the Japanese name Igo(囲碁), which is borrowed from the Chinese name Wei-qi(圍棋 or 围棋). :)

You should set this so that the point cloud shows first
