Description

I don't know the name of this type of rose and it's not neccesarily my favorite sort of petal (although to be honest I've never paid close attention to differences in rose petal shape and structure) but the color... wow!

The blend of fluorescent orange to fluorescent pink is probably my favorite color progression in roses. Perhaps it has something to do with growing up in the tropics or growing up in the 1980s and 1990s (although I was very much isolated from most western fads) but that stir of gold within the near-red gets me every time. A red or crimson rose has class, but for dignity and friendliness all in one, I don't think this can be beaten.

As to the photos here, hopefully you can find something worth looking at. I was experimenting with the macro setting on my camera and the automatic flash washed a bunch of the shots out in the foreground while managing to also leave the background almost entirely black. Good composition was not even attempted as I was losing the light and wanted to get a fair bit of coverage. Also, note to self: pick off the dead blooms *before* you take the photos.
