These were the first large icebergs I saw on my trip to Antarctica. I had some detail shots of the bergs as well but they wouldn't synth. I think not having mid-level zoomed shots to bridge between the detail and wide-angle shots is what did me in.

Those are cool. I've only seen small bergs up in the Arctic ocean. You might be able to get the detail shots to synth if you create crops of the wide angle shots and include them in the synth. The wide angles should match the cropped versions and hopefully the detail shots will also match the crops. It's worth a shot, I've been able to make it work in the past.
